37 Lonan This is affirmed to be the last will & Testament of William Kewley of Colby in the Parish of Kk Lonnon who Departed this Life on or about 29th March 1775 He being then Sick & weak in Body but of sound Disposing mind & memory at the making thereof First he committed his soul to God & Body to Christ: Burial and as to his Worldly Effects he bequeathed them in manner following Imprimis he Left to his son Charles Kewley five English shillings with a Coat & a pair of Breeches Itm He Left to his son John Kewley four Pounds five shillings with a Coat & a pair of Breeches as also a hedge spade & a Rope He Left & bequeathed to his Eldest son William Kewley his part of all the Husbandry gears & [Limo ?] [Hono?..] and he then ordered that his said son William should pay fifteen shillings unto his Execrs for the same He Left to his Daughter Jane vizt James Quayles wife five shillings and he then ordered that his sd son in Law James Quayle should put a stone on his Grave was which he was to get Two English shillings more He Left and English shilling a piece to the witnesses hereof He further Left six pence Legacy to any person or persons that would Claim any right to his Effects Lastly He Revoking all other wills made & words or Intentions Uttered Declared this to be his last Will & Testament & Nominated and appointed therein his Two Dutiful Daughters Isabel & Anne Kewley whole & sole Exetors of all the Rest of his Goods and chattels both Moveable and immoveable of whatever nature so ever Witnesses John Quine my X Mary Kermod my X Jur At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas June 7, 1775 The Execrs are sworn in Court in form of Law as also to be true & fair the one to the other in the Division of the estate & hath given Pledges for the paymen of Debts & Legacies namely John Kermod one of the Witnesses (sic) & Danl Collister of Lonan Probatum est Ja: Wilks Thos Cubbon
