This is affirmed by the subscribing witnesses to be the last will and
testament of Catharine Clark  otherwise Kermod wife of William Clark
of the Nappin of said parish who departed this life on or about the eighth
day of September anno predicto being in perfect mind and memory at the
making hereof in manner and form following:  That is to say
First she committed her soul to God and her body to Christian  burial.
Item She bequeathed and left to her two daughters namely Patience and
Elisabeth Clarke the sum of twenty pounds each with a feather bed each half
of the table cloth and sheetings and bed clothes and all her shaped apparel
woolen and linen excepting what is hereinafter mentioned which belonged to
her in the house between her said daughters, half and half, share and share
alike.
Item she left to her said daughter Patience two cloaks, one of them a
new blue cloak and the other a red cloak and the big black chest
Item she left to her daughter Elizabeth a small chest or box wherein she
kept her linens.
Item she left six pence to her son William .
To her other two sons namely Robert and John
Clarke  she left the sum of four pounds each.
She left six pence to each claimer and one shilling each to the two
witnesses of her last will and testament.
And lastly she nominated constituted and appointed her loving husband
William Clarke  sole and whole executor of all the rest of her goods and
effects moveable and immoveable whatsoever.

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael 12 Nov 1776 The executrix is sworn
in court in form of law and  under takes the tuition and
maintenance of Elizabeth who is under age and hath given pledges for the
payment of debts and legacies namely David Christian and John Kelly
both of Jurby

At a Consistory Court holden at KK Michael Nov 14th 1776
William and Patience Clarke  son and daughter of the testatrix are sworn
guardians and supervisors of their sister Elizabeth who is under age in form
of law.
