38 Andreas The last will and testament of STEPHEN CORLETT of KK Andreas, who departed this life on or about the 12th day of December 1775, being of perfect mind and memory at the making thereof. First, he left and bequeathed to his BROTHER'S SON DANIEL CORLETT of the said parish his croft which he himself purchased called Cronk's ny erry. And the Testator asked his WIFE JONEY CORLETT if she would give her consent to give her part of the said Croft to the said DANIEL CROLETT after his decease, to which she answered in Manks Scummey Lhiamys, and the Testator further asked his said WIFE if she wanted to have the said Croft during her life time, to which she answered I do not care for it. Item, he left to WILLIAM FREER twenty shillings which he had in the hands of John Tear (beg). Item, he left to DANIEL CORLETT of Jurby the sum of twenty shillings which was in the hands of Philip Quirk. Item, he left the sum of twenty shillings which he had in the hands of John Tear (Willy) to his NEPHEW WILLIAM CORLETT. Item, he left to his NEPHEW JOHN CORLET twenty shillings of the cash he had in the hands of Philip Crain. Item, he left to ROBERT WADE his blue coat. Item, he left six pence legacy to whomsoever would sue any right to his effects. Item, he left to the witnesses of this will a shilling each. Lastly he nominated his said WIFE JONEY CORLETT ALIAS CHRISTIAN sole Executrix of all the rest of his goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever. Witnesses: John Tear X, Wm Cleater, jurati. AT A COURT OF CORRECTION HOLDEN at Lezayre 14th February 1776: The Executrix is sworn in Court in form of Law and consents that DANIEL CORLETT shall immediately possess and enjoy the whole of Croit-ny-errey, save such part thereof as has this season been manured with sea xxxxx, the crop whereof she reserves to herself for this season, and in cora xxxxxx hereof he the said DANIEL CORLETT has promised and obliged himself to pay or cause to be paid to said Executrix the sum of twenty shillings on or before the 12th day of November next. Pledges for the said Executrix in form of Law are William Radcliffe and William Cleater both of KK Andreas. Probatum est, solvit 18d. Joh: Moore, Thos: Cubbon. AT BALLAUGH AUGUST 10TH 1776 WHEREAS SEVERAL DISPUTES have arisen and now subsist between JONEY CORLETT Executrix of the last will and testament of STEPHEN CORLETT of the Parish of KK Andreas of the one part, and ROBERT WADE of the Parish of Lezayre of the other part, touching several accounts depending between them, the Parties have agreed that said ROBERT WADE is to pay the said JONEY CORLETT one or before the 12th November next the sum of twenty shillings in full of all said accounts whether the same be on account of cattle, corn, labor or otherwise howsoever alleged to be due by either Party. He the said ROBERT WADE is therefore hereby ordered to pay said sum of twenty shillings unto said JONEY CORLETT on or before the 12th day of November next otherwise he is to be committed until he submits to Law and pays all fees. Note that the Testator's blue coat is to be forthwith delivered said WADE according to his Will. To the Sumner of Lezayre who if disobeyed to apply for a constable. Ja:Wilks. JULY 11TH 1777 WE WILLIAM CORLETT, DANIEL CORLETT, WILLIAM FREER AND JOHN CORLETT do each of us acknowledge to have received and to be fully paid the several sums of twenty shillings each. The said several sums of twenty shillings being a leacy bequesthed each of us by the last wil and testament of STEPHEN CORLETT. And we do each of us respectively hereby acquit release and discharge the Executors of STEPHEN CORLETT of said respective legacies. As witness our names the day and date above written, Wm Freer, Wm Corlet his x mark, Daniel Corlett his X mark, John Corlett his X mark. Before me Tho: Cubbon Ar.Reg."
