64 Andreas The last will and testament of Cathrine Cormode alias Faragher of KK Andreas, who departed this life on the 13th day of February 1778, being of perfect mind and memory at the making there. First, she committed her soul to God and body to Christian burial. Item, she left to her husband Daniel Cormode senior per part of the land called Donald’s Croft to be held and enjoyed by him during his natural life time. Item, she left her said part of the said Croft to her daughter Joney Cormode to be possessed by her from and after the decease of her father Daniel Cormode aforesaid. Item, she appointed that her said daughter Joney should give or pay twenty pounds in cash to her daughter Margaret Cormode, when she the said Joney possesseth the said Croft. Item, the said Daniel Cormode consented to give his part of the said Croft to his daughter Joney Cormode aforesaid after his decease. Item, she left to her said Husband Daniel Cormode her part of the Down’s Land during his natural lifetime, and that the same was afterwards to descend to her son Daniel Cormode junior. Item, she appointed her said son Daniel to pay fourteen pounds in cash to her children herein after mentioned, when he possesseth the said Down’s Land. Item, she appointed that four pounds of the said fourteen pounds should be paid to her son John Cormode, six pounds to her said daughter Margaret, and four pounds to her daughter Ellinor Faragher which completes the said fourteen pounds. The said Daniel Cormode senior consented to give his part of the said Down’s Land to the said Daniel Cormode junior after his decease. Item, she left her clothes to her said daughters Joney and Ellinor equally between them. Item, she left all her linens to her said Daughter Margaret. Item, she left five yards of linen cloth to her said three daughters and three yards of the same to her said daughter Margaret, and to her other said daughters namely Joney and Ellinor, one yard each. Lastly, she nominated and appointed her foresaid husband Daniel Cormode senior sole executor of all the rest of her goods moveable and unmoveable whatsoever. To the witnesses of this will she left an English shilling each. Witnesses: ane Faragher, Cathrine Corlet, jurati. At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre May 22nd 1778: The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law and consents that the Lands bequeathed in the within shall descent as the same is more fully expressed in the said will.
