Will of Robert Creer of Braddan - 1780 In the name of God Amen January 25th 1780 I Robt. Creeyer in the Parish of Kirk Braddan being very sick and weak in Body, but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God, therefore calling in mind the mortality of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once they die, do make & ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all, I give and commend my soul into the Hands of Almighty God that gave ?? and my Body. I recommend to the Earth, to be put in decent Christian burial at the Discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the General hope I shall receive the same again, by the mighty power and as touching such worldly Estate wheresoever it has pleased God to Bless me in this Life, I give, derive and dispose of the same in the following manner and form First - I give and bequeath to my son Thomas to be Executor of all my Goods and Effects, Also I give to my beloved son John two pound & some schooling, and I also [give] unto my two Daughters Margratte & Elizabeth two ???? ??? Each Child, and some schooling, and one shilling I give to my Daughter Isabel - And I do hereby ????? and bequeath and confirming this my last Will and Testament. In Witness thereof, I Have hereunto set my hand and ???? the Day and Year above written - Signed, sealed and declared by the said Robt Creer Witnesses present Hugh Nail my X ??????????? At a Chapter Court holden at Kirk Marown Nov 11th 1780 The Excr is sworn in court in form of Law & hath given pledges for the payment of Debts, Legal namely Davd Quark of Conchan & Hugh Nail the witness Decretum est Signature illegible John Creer son of Robt Creer do hereby acknowledge to have ???? from my mother Elizabeth Creer the sum of forty shillings same being a legacy bequeathed me by the last will and testament of my Father Robt Creer aforesd & I do hereby release, exonerate & discharge my Sd Mother Elizth Creer of sd legacy of forty shillings.
