The Excr. Is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges for 
The payment of Debts and Legacies namely Chas. Lace and Wm Radcliffe

In the Name of God Amen
UI Anne Lace the widow of William Lace of Ballavarry being thro the
Abundance and goodness of God , tho weak in Body, 
and sound of mind and perfect understanding, Do  make and 
constitute this my Last Will and Testament
in Manner following:

First 	I most humbly bequeath my soul to God my 
	Maker, and my body to Christian Burial

2ndly	I leave and bequeath to my Daughter Ellinor
the wife of Thomas Corlett the sum of Twenty pounds
Legacy besides what money or effects she has 
Already received

Item, I leave and bequeath to my Daughter Joney
The wife of John Tear of Smeal the sum of Twenty
Pounds, besides what money and effects she has 
Already received

Item, I leave and bequeath to my Daughter
Margery the wife of William Radcliffe the 
Notes or Bonds which the sd. Wm Radcliffe had
Payed to me together with all Interest due
Thereon, besides what money or Effects she had 
Already received

Item, I leave and bequeath to my daughter 
Mary Allen the sum of Twenty  shillings   Item

I leave and bequeath to my Grandson
Thomas Allen the two Bonds or Notes which he 
hath passed to me with the  Interest due thereon
besides what goods or effects he hath already received

Item, I leave and bequeath to my Great Gradson
Thomas Allen the sum of Three pounds

Item  I leave and bequeath to my Grand child
Ann Cain the wife of Thos Callister, the sum of 
Twelve pounds and also the sum of Twenty shillings
To her sister Mary Cain

Item  I leave and bequeath to my Grand child
Mary, the daughter of Wm Radcliffe the Consideration
Mentioned in a Bill of Mortgage passed 
Over to me by Wm Tear which is to be paid by her
Father when she is Twenty one year of age who
Is to receive the same after my decease

Item   I leave to my Grandson Wm Corlet the 
Sum of Three Pounds

Item  I leave and bequeath to my daughters,
Namely  Ellinor, Jane, Joney and Margery 
All my apparrel of shaped Linnen and silks *& clothes 
to be equally between them and also whatsoever
feater(feather?) and brass I have in the house to be
equally between Jane, Joney Margery and my for sd.
Daughters.

Item, I leave to the poore of the Parish the sum 
of Five Pounds to be laid out on Interest

Item I leave to my Great Grandson Wm Allen
The sum of Twenty shillings

Lastly, I Nominate, Constitute  and appoint my 
Dutiful Daughter Joney Lace whole, sole 
Executrix of all the rest of my goods and effects
Moveable and Inmoveable whatsoever, and to 
Witnesses of this my Will I leave five shillings
British each. And it is my Will and Desire that
My Executrix before mentioned shall not  (get?)
Any Account or Oath of any of my Daughters 
or Grand children or any of the Legatees in this
my Will mentioned and that whatsoever sum
or sums of money or goods or effects that I have
given or shall hereafter give to any of the said
Legatees, shall be their own and will not
Acct. with the Executrix for the same -  Except
Any Notes Bonds or judgements given or to be?
Given to my attorneys for to collect or levy
The contents of the same or any Cash of the
Nature remaining in his or their hands
In Testamony hereof I have caused this Will
To be wrote and fixed my mark to my name
After Nominating John Tear and Thos Allen  to 
Oversee and take all due care of my sd Exectris
And Effects		this fifth day of janury 1781

Ann Lace of Ballvarry having bequeathed unto her grand 
Child Mary the daughter of Wm Radcliffe the Consideration money
Mentioned in Bill of Mortgage passed over to her by wm Lace which is to be 
paid her by her father when she is twenty one years of age, who is to receive 
the same after her decease, I the said Wm Radcliffe, father of sd. Mary  do 
hereby therefore  acknowledge to have recd. The sd. Consideratin money 
bequeathed unto my sd. Daugher and I do hereby acquit release exonerate and 
discharge the Exrs of the last will and Testament of sd, Ann Lace of said 
particular legacy.. 
As witnessed my subscription this 25th day of May 1782    Wm Radcliffe [actual signature]

Ann Lace of Ballavarry having bequeathed the sum of three pounds unto her Great 
Grandson Thomas Allen and the sum of  Twenty shillings to her great grandson 
Wm Allen, Thomas Allen the father of sd. Thomas & Wm Allen hath this day 
acknowledged to have recd. The sd. Respective legacies of three pounds and twenty 
shillings  and he doth hereby acquit, re??? And discharge the Exrs of the last 
will and testament of sd. Ann Lace of Sd respective legacies as witness his 
subscription  this 25th day May 1782			Thos. Allen [actual signature]

I John Tear husband of Jane Lace, daughter of Ann Lace do hereby acknowledge too 
have  recd. The sum of twenty pounds legacy bequeathed to my said wife Jane by 
the last will and testament of her mother Ann Lace.  I do hereby acquit, release 
exonerate and discharge the Exrs of the last Will and Testament of sd. Ann Lace 
of Sd legacy of twenty pounds   As witness my subscription this 
14th Oct 1789

We Thomas Corlett husband of Ellinor Lace, John Teare husband of Jane Lace, 
William Radcliffe husband of Margery Lace and Mary Allen do each of us hereby 
acknowledge to have recd. And tobe fully paid the respective legacies bequeathed 
unto each of us by the last will and testament of Ann Lace of Ballavrry and by 
and from the hands of Joney Lace the Execr. Of the Last Will and Testament of 
the said Anne Lace and we do each of us respectively hereby acquit, release, 
exonerate and discharge the sd. Joney Lace, her Execrs.  Adms [Administrators] 
and Assignes of all and every part of the said respective Legacies.  
As witness ??? subscriptions this 25th day of May 1782

We Thomas Allen and Thos Callister husband of Ann Cain and  Thos.Kewn, husband

have recd.  And to have be fully paid, and satisfied  the respective legacies 
bequeathed unto each of us by the lst will and testament of Ann Lace of Ballavrry 
at, by and from the hands of  Joney Lace the Execr.  Of the last will and testament  
of the said  Anne Lace and we do each of us hereby respectively  acquit, release, 
exonerate and discharge the sd. Joney Lace her Execrs. Adms. And assigns. Of all 
and every part of our said respective legacies as witness our subscriptions this
25th May 1782

[NOTE: Ann Lace's daughter Jane (not Joney) was the wife of John Tear of Smeal. 
Joney was the spinster, the dutiful daughter Joney Lace appointed sole executrix. 
The receipts make clear that the wife of John Tear was daughter Jane Lace.]
