64 1784 Rushen The last will and testament of John Skealey of the Parish of Trinity Rushen who being weak in body but of a sound in mind and memory did make this his last will and testament in manner following. Who departed this life the 7th day of March 1784. First He commended his soul to Almighty God and his body to Christian burial. 2ndl He left and bequeathed to his daughter Eleanor Lawson als Skealey a pair of shoes, a pair of stockings, a shirt and a waistcoat And the big chest. And after her decease her daughter Ann Lawson is to have said chest. 3dly He left and bequeathed to his grandson Willm Lawson his two coats and a piece of woollen cloth containing about five yards be it more or less. Lastly, he nominated, constituted & appointed his grandaughter Isabel Lawson sole executx of all the rest of his goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever, and cuts all claimers of with six pence legacy each. Witnesses Gilbert Gell his X } Joney Cooil als Cubbon her X } jur At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown June 1784 the executrix is sworn in Court in form of Law and has given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies, namely Ewan Qualtrough of Rushen and William Cannel of Kirk Arbory.
