                     Onchan


This is affirmed to be the last Will and Testament of Stephen Kewley of this parish of 
Kirk Onchan who departed this life May the 23rd 1784 who being in disposed in Body but 
of a disposing mind and memory at the pronouncing Hereof.

First and principally he committed his soul to Almightly God who gave it and his Body to 
Christian Burial and with Respect to such Effects as he was posses’d of 
he dispose’d of the same as follows that is to say –
Item   He left and bequeathed to his son Wm his great Coat.
Item   He left and bequeathed to his son Phillip his brown and blue suits of clothe
Item   He left and bequeathed to his son Edwd who is of the Island the sum of four or five 
       shillings in case he comes for it if Not to be paid to his Daughter Cathrine 
Item   He left and bequeathed four sheep equally between his Wife and his Daughter Jane
Item   He left and bequeathed to his Daughter Cathrine Three Barrels
Lastly He left and bequeathed the residue and remainder of his effects moveable and 
       immoveable of what nature or denominations soever to his Wife Cathrine Kewley 
       and nominated constituted ordained and appointed his aforesd wife whole and sole 
       Executrix of his Last Will and Testament

At a Chapter Court holden at Kirk Marown 9th Nov 1784

The Exectx is sworn in Court in Form of Law and hath given Pledges for the Payment of  
Debts and Legacies namely Robt Kelly and Wm Karran the Witnesses of the Will
