CORKILL, Margaret  1784  Mau   A  166  0106229  

 In the name of God Amen.  The last will and testament of Margret Corkill als 
 Christian of the parish of KK Maughold who departed this life the 11 of April 1784 
 being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding at the making thereof.   
 I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.   
 I leave and bequeath unto my son Peter Corkill the sum of twenty shillings and one sheep as Legacy.   
 I leave and bequeath unto my son Samuel Corkill one sheep and the sum of three  pounds 
 which he oweth me except ten shillings he is to pay out of the sd three pounds unto 
 my daughter Mary Creer as Legacy.    
 I leave and bequeath unto my son William Corkill one sheep a coverlaid a blanket 
 a big iron pott and a big chest and he is to make my coffin for the sd chest also.    
 I leave unto him the sum of three pounds which he oweth me except ten shillings 
 he is to pay out of the sd three pounds unto my Mary Creer, and I leave unto his 
 wife Nelley Corkill a wearing gownd and a wearing bed gound as legacy.    
 I leave and bequeath unto my granddaughter Margaret Corkill junr a little spinning 
 wheel as legacy.   
 It leave and bequeath unto my sd daughter Mary Creer one sheep.   
 I leave and bequeath six pence legacy to any one that craves a right to the effects of this will.    
 Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my sd daughter Mary Creer to be whole 
 Execrx of all the rest of my goods moveable and immoveable of whatsoever kind or nature.

After this was declared she send for Daniel Joughin one of the witnesses and tould 
him that it was her will and desire to leave unto her daughter in law Anne Corkill 
wife of my sd son Samual Corkill a read gound.

Likewise after this was declared agains she send for the other witness only John 
Corlett and tould him that it was her will and desire to leave unto my sd son

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre June ---, 1784: 
John Creer husband of Mary Creer sworn Execr in Court in form of Law & hath give 
pledges for payment of debts & legacies namely John corlett & Donold Joughin both 
of Rhenabb KK Maughold.
