Robert Creere, 1785

17         Braddan
This is affirmed by Edward Oates & Peter (or Patrick) Callow, both of the town of Douglas, 
tailors, to be the last will and testament of Robert Creere of Douglas, 
taylor, deceased, when in their presence, made the same on the twentieth 
day of April instant, he being at the time in perfect sound, mind & 
disposing memory. 
First, he bequeathed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. 
Secondly, he left to his son Edward Creere, and to his Daughter Ester 
Creere the sum of five shillings each. 
Thirdly and lastly, he left his wife Ester Creere alias Oates whole 
and sole executrix of this his last will and testament, she paying 
the sum of six pence to any person or persons pretending to claim 
any right to the property he died possessed of, but as herein is 
mentioned, and which six pence to be in lieu and full of such 
pretended right and claim, she the above wife paying the above legacies. 
In witness whereof we the said Edward Oates & Peter Callow do subscribe 
our names to the truth of all the forgoing this 27th day of April 1785.

At a Chapter Court holden at 
Beemaghag in the parish of KK Conchan, 
May 30th, 1785, 
the executrix is sworn in form of law and hath given 
pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely 
the witnesses of the will
