5 Douglas Know all men by these presents that I ROBT CORLETT of Douglas out of the good will favour and affection which I have and do bear to my DAUGHTER JANE CORLETT do hereby for and in consideration of the full and just sum of two pounds seventeen shillings British to be paid in the following manner, viz., five shillings to each of my SONS THOMAS, JOHN AND JAMES and a guinea apiece to my two GRANDSONS JOHN THE SON OF THOMAS, AND JAMES THE SON OF JOHN to be paid by my said daughter a year after my decease do give grant confirm estate and settle on her my said DAUGHTER JANE CORLETT all my possessions and concerns of houses, sheds, yard and lands in the said Town of such yearly chief rent as they bear or such as the setting quest will proportion upon them, still reserving the power of taking fifteen pounds upon security of the said premises if I think proper so to do. To have and to hold unto her my said DAUGHTER the premises aforesaid after my death with all my goods and chattels and all ways waters and water courses easements and privileges whatsoever, yielding and paying the Lord's rent as aforesaid with all other dues duties suits boons and services as formerly, and for the punctual performance hereof I bind myself in the penalty of an hundred pounds to be levied and paid according to practice of this Isle as witness my subscription this the seventh day of July 1787. Witnesses at the signing hereof, William Caoine my X, Nicklas Freer, jurati. 12 APRIL 1788 WILLM CAINE AND NICHOLAS FREER made oath that they were by and present when ROBERT CURLETT executed the within Deed of Settlement. Before me, JOHN COSNAHAN. AT A CHAPTER COURT holden in the Parish of KK Onchan on the 3rd day of June, 1788 The before going Deed of Settlement having been lawfully acknowledged before the worshipful High Bailiff of Douglas and ROBERT CORLETT the Donor having departed this life, JOHN QUIGGIN HUSBAND OF JANE the Donee sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges for the payment of Debts namely Paul Kelly of Douglas and Thomas Callin of the parish of KK Marown.
