In the name of God, amen. Novr 19th 1788, the last will and 
testament of JOHN JOUGHYN of the parish of KK Andreas he being 
weak in body and of perfect mind and memory at the making 
thereof, he did dispose of his worldly goods and effects in 
manner following.  First, I commit his soul to Almighty God and 
body to Christian burial.  Also, I leave and bequeath to 
PHILLIP JOUGHYN MY SON the sum of eight pounds to be paid to 
by my Executors twenty shillings per year till the sum of eight 
pounds be paid to my SON PHILLIP, and I leave to PHILLIP the 
big saw soon after my decease.  
Item, I leave and bequeath to my DAUGHTER JONEY now WIFE OF 
JOHN CORLETT five shillings and to my DAUGHTER CATH five 
shillings and to my DAUGHTER ANN THE WIFE OF PHILLIP FARGHER 
I leave five shillings and unto my DAUGHTER ALICE THE WIFE OF 
PATR. BREW I leave five shillings.  
Item, I leave and bequeath to whomsoever that will claim any 
right in this my will six pence each.  
Lastly, he constitute appoint and order his ELDEST SON JOHN 
whole Executor of all the rest of his goods moveable and 
immoveable of what kind and nature soever.

AT A CHAPTER COURT holden at Lezayre June 17th 1789
The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath 
given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely 
the witnesses of the will.  Probatum est, solvit xx.  Thos Cubbon.            

I PATRICK BREW HUSBAND OF ALICE within named have acknowledge 
to have received the sum of five shillings a legacy bequeathed 
my said WIFE ALICE by the last will and testament of HER FATHER 
JOHN JOUGHIN and I do hereby acquit release exonerate and 
discharge the Executor of the last will and testament of the 
said JOHN JOUGHIN of all and every part of said legacy of five 
shillings as witness my mark to my name this 12 Oct 1789.

Before me Thos Cubbon.             

I PHILIP JOUGHIN do hereby acknowledge to be fully paid and 
satisfied the legacy of eight pounds bequeathed me by the last 
will and testament of my FATHER JOHN JOUGHIN and do release 
acquit exonerate and discharge his Executor of all claims 
and demands for or an account of the same, as witness my hand 
this 18th March 1801. [signed his mark] PHILIP JOUGHIN his mark.            

I JOHN CORLETT HUSBAND OF JONEY JOUGHIN and Executor of the 
last will of CATH: JOUGHIN do acknowledge to be fully paid 
and satisfied the legacies bequeathed the said JONEY & CATH: 
by THEIR FATHER JOHN JOUGHIN and do acquit release exonerate 
and discharge the Executor of the last will and testament of 
the said JOHN JOUGHIN of all claims and demands for or on 
account of the same as witness my mark to my name this 18th 
March 1801, JOHN CORLETT his X mark.            

I PHILIP FARGHER HUSBAND OF ANN JOUGHIN do hereby acknowledge 
to be fully paid and satisfied the legacy bequeathed MY WIFE 
ANN by HER FATHER JOHN JOUGHIN and do hereby acquit release 
exonerate and discharge the Executor of the last will and 
testament of the said JOHN JOUGHIN of all claims or demands on 
accont of the same as witness my mark to my name this 18th 
March 1801, PHILIP FARGHER his X mark.
