       1789  	Onchan

This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of John Cain 
of Ballachrink in the parish of K. Onchan, who departed this life 
the tenth day of October, seventeen hundred and eighty nine, 
who was of sound disposing mind and memory at the making thereof. 
And first he committed his soul to God and body to christian 
burial. He also left, with the consent of Mary his wife, his 
lands, purchased and unpurchased unto his son Phillip, to have 
one half now and the half after his wife's death. He also left 
and bequeathed to his daughters Mary & Isabel one Guinea each.
Vizt. Tho Crowe and the Testator's son Phillip as the witnesses 
apprehended.

He also said that they were to send the two youngest sons 
(John & Mathias) to a trade. He left five shillings British 
to the Poor of the s'd Parish and the rest residue, and remainder 
of his goods and Chattles Movable and immoveable, whatever, 
he gave and bequeathed to his loving wife, and constituted and 
appointed her whole Executrix of his last will and testament.

At a Chapter Court holden at Bemahague on the 11th Nov. 1789.
The Excrs is sworn in Court in form of Law as also Guardian 
and Supervisor of the Child under age, and hath given pledges 
for the payment of Debts and Legacies namely William Cain 
of the Parish of K. Onchan and Robert Quine one of the witnesses.
