58           Bride
The last will and testament of DOROTHY CHRISTIAN WIFE OF 
WILLIAM CHRISTIAN of Ballabeg in the Parish of Bride, by 
her expressed and made by and with the consent of her 
HUSBAND and in his presence and in the presence of the 
xxx of her family this 5th day of February 1791, she being 
of sound mind and memory at the delivering thereof.  
First, she commended her soul to God and her body to Christian burial.  
Item, she left and bequeathed to her two DAUGHTERS ISABEL AND 
JANE CHRISTIAN the sum of twelve pounds apiece as legacy.  
Item, to her YOUNGEST SON DANIEL CHRISTIAN she left six 
pounds as legacy.  
Item, to her DAUGHTER MARGARET who is in Liverpool she left 
four pounds legacy.  
Item, to her other DAUGHTER ESTHER who is in England she left 
a crown as legacy.  
Item, to her GRANDDAUGHTER ANN PATERSON she left six pounds 
as legacy.  
She left also a feather bed apiece her said two DAUGHTERS ISABEL 
AND JANE CHRISTIAN.  
Lastly, she nominated constituted and appointed her ELDEST SON 
WILLIAM CHRISTIAN sole and whole Executor of all her goods and 
effects moveable and immoveable of what kind or nature soever.

WHEREAS DOROTHY CHRISTIAN WIFE OF WM CHRISTIAN of Ballabeg in 
the Parish of Bride did make her will the 10th day of November 
1791 as may fully and at large appear on the Archdeacon Register 
and among other things left to her DAUGHTER JANE the sum of 
twelve pounds with a feather bed as legacy, to her YOUNGEST SON 
DANIEL CHRISTIAN she left six pounds as legacy, to her DAUGHTER 
MARGARET CHRISTIAN who is in Liverpool she left four pounds legacy, 
and lastly she appointed her ELDEST SON WILLIAM CHRISTIAN sole 
and whole Executor of all her goods and effect; 
And whereas the aforesaid WILLIAM CHRISTIAN having settled and 
paid the afore legacies to his afore said sisters and brother 
in full agreeable to the will and testament of his afore said MOTHER 
DOROTHY CHRISTIAN, we the aforesaid JANE CHRISTIAN, DANIEL CHRISTIAN, 
& MARGARET CHRISTIAN do hereby acquit exonerate and discharge him 
the afore said WILLIAM CHRISTIAN his heirs executors and assigns 
for and on account of our afore said legacies, As witness our names 
and marks this 23rd day of February 1793.

23rd Febry 1793: Jane Christian, Daniel Christian and Margaret Christian 
the subscribing parties acknowledged the before going discharge and 
receipt to be their proper act of and deed.  
Before me, Wm Clucas.            

WHEREAS I ISABLE CHRISTIAN DAUGHTER OF WM & DOROTHY CHRISTIAN 
of the BallaBeg in the Parish of Bride & ANN PATERSON GRANDDAUGHTER 
of the above WM & DOROTHY CHRISTIAN, and whereas the aforesaid 
DOROTHY CHRISTIAN made her will 5th day of February 1791 as 
appears on the Archdeacon Register dated the 10th November 1791, 
and left her foresaid daughter the sum of twelve pounds and a 
feather bed as legacy and to the her foresaid granddaughter 
ANN PATERSON the sum of six pounds as legacy; 
We the afore said ISABLE CHRISTIAN & ANN PATERSON do hereby own 
and acknowledge ourselves to be fully paid and satisfied by the 
Executor WILLIAM CHRISTIAN the whole of our afore said legacies 
in full and do acquit and discharge him the afore said WILLIAM 
CHRISTIAN the Executor for all afore said legacies.      

FEBRUARY 12TH 1794
ISABEL CHRISTIAN and ANN PATTERSON acknowledged to have fully 
received all the Legacies bequeathed to them by the within named 
DOROTHY CHRISTIAN and acquit and exonerate WILLIAM CHRISTIAN of 
all and every part thereof.
