		In the Name of God Amen
	    The Last will and Testament of John
	    Kermode Senr. of the Balnejora and parish
	    of KK Maughold being weak in Body but
	    of Sound mind & memory at the making here
	    of but calling to mind the uncertainty of Human
	    Nature do make this my last Will & Testament
	    in manner & form folling    Viz
Impims.	      First & principally I commit my Soul to God
	    and my Body to Christian Burial.
Secondly      I Bequeath a Shilling to each person who
	   shall Claim in this my last Will
Lastly	      I Nominate Constitute & appoint my Son &
	   Heir John Kermode whole & Sole Executor
	   of all my Worldly Effects of what nature or Denomi
	   nation whatsoever.  In Witness to the same I have
	   hereunto Set my Mark to my Name this
	   February 18 1788

	At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre July 14th 
               1791 



	At KK Maughold  Augt. 22nd 1791_

	John Kermod the Excr. within named was this
	day Sworn truly to fulfill the last Will and
	Testament of the Testator, & to pay all his just
	debts & Legacies so far forth as the Goods will
	extend & the law shall bind, to wch. Ends he has
	given pledges in form of Law namely John
	Killey & Patrick Kneale both of KK
	Maughold             Probatum est

July 23rd 1792  Wm. Kermod enters a claim agt. the Exr of
John Kermod for the Sum of one pound one
Shilling british & craves the Law
