We John Christian of the Curraugh in the Parish of 
KK Christ Lezayre and Elizabeth Christian my wife 
being advanced in years and infirm but of sound 
disposing mind and memory calling to mind the uncertainty 
of this life do make this out last will and testament 
in manner following:    
First we comitt our souls to God steadfastly hoping 
for a glorious resurrection and remission for our 
sins through the merits of Jesus Christ our Saviour 
and Redeemer and our bodies to be decently intered 
in a Christian manner.    
Secondly We leave and bequeath to our daughter Ann 
the wife of William Garret the sum of six pounds 
together with a feather bed to be paid after the 
decease of the survivor of us the said John and 
Elizabeth Christian.     
Thirdly We leave to our son John Christian such 
sheep as the survivor of us these Testators die 
possessed of except such of those sheep as will be 
necessary for the funeral of the survivor.     
Fourthly We leave and bequeath the sum of one 
shilling to be paid to each of rest of our children 
as their Legacies.     
Lastly Our will is and we do bequeath all on goods 
credits chattels cattle and effects to be possessed 
and the property of the survivor of us the aforesaid 
John and Elizabeth Christian subject to our debts 
and the above legacies and we do hereby apoint the 
survivor of us to be the Executor and Residuary Legatee 
of whomsoever of us shall first depart this life 
and we do hereby make void all other will or wills 
by us made and do publish this to be our last will 
and testament, In witness whereof we have signed 
our names and marks the 18th day of April 1792.

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre Novr 15th 1792: 
At Lezayre January 21st 1793: John Christian one of 
the Testators having departed this life, Elizabeth 
Christian the survivor being infirm & unable to attend 
the Court, is this day sworn Execx in form of Law 
and hath given Pledges for the payment of debts & 
legacies namely William Kelly & John Caley both of 
Lezayre.

Nov 21st 1793: 
Wm Cowle enters a claim agt the Execr of John Christian 
for the sum of £28?]  0  0  cr------

Janry 2d 1794: 
Margt Garret enters a claim agt the Estate of John 
Christian for the sum of £----

I Wm Garret do hereby acknowledge to have recd the 
sum of six pounds & a feather bed the same being a 
Legacy bequeathed my wife Ann by the last will & 
Testament of her father John Christian & to be paid 
after the decease of the Survivor of John Christian 
& Elizth Christian his wife & I do hereby acquit 
release exonerate & discharge the Execr of the last 
will & testamt of my father in law John Christian of 
all claims and demands for o------ of the sd Legacy 
of six pounds & a feather bed as witness my mark to 
my name the 26th Feby 1796[?],  Wm Garret his mrk X.
