Jane Skillicorn als Gill, 1793

To the Revnds Evan Christian and William Clucas Vicars Genals of this Isle
The Humble Petitn of John Skillicorn of the parish of Lezayre
sheweth That Jane Skillicorn als Gill of the sd parish of Lezayre departed
this life on or about the month of January last and previous thereto duly
made her last Will and Testament and appointed your Petitioner Executor
thereof...

March the 2d 1791
In the name of God Amen, I Jane Skillicorn als Gill widow being of perfect
mind and sound memory by the Blessing of Almighty God and calling to mind
the uncertainties of this Transitory Life, do make and declare this my last
Will and Testament in Manner following hereby revoking all other wills by
me made
First I commit my soule unto the hands of Almighty God who Created me and
hath hitherto graciously preserved and protected me in sure and certain
Hope of a joyfull Resurrection through the Merits and Mediation of my
blessed Savior and Redeemer, and my Body to decent Christian Burial
Item I leave and bequeath to my two Sons namely James & Robt Skillicorn a
Blanket & sheet a piece as legacy
Item I leave & Bequeath to my son Edmond Skillicorn six shillings
Item I leave & bequeath to my Daughter Anne Cottier als Skillicorn my cow,
a furnished Bed and all my Aparrel save my blue Cloak as legacy
Item I leave & bequeath to my three grand Children namely Robt Skillicorn
son of John Skillicorn, John Cottier and John Skillicorn son of Edmd
Skillicorn a She Lamb a piece as legacy
Item I leave and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Jane Skillicorn my blue
Cloak as Legacy
Item I leave & bequeath to my three children, namely John and Edmond
Skillicorn and Ann Cottier, als Skillicorn, my share of my son Edward's
Effects equally between them as legacy
Lastly I nominate ordain and Appoint my son John Skillicorn whole and sole
Executor of all the rest of my Goods and Chattles moveable and immov[eable]
of what kind or nature soever and to the Witnesses of this my last Will, I
leave one shilling a piece

At a Consistory Court holden at KK Michael on the 28th Febry 1793
The Exor is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges for the
payment of Debts and Legacies namely the witnesses of this Will

(Those summoned to the hearing were Edmond Skillicorn of KK Michael, John
Skillicorn of Lezayre, and John Cottier of Lezayre.)
