   In the name of God Amen
Margaret Gell of Kirkle in the Parish of Kirk
Christ Rushen being at present weak in body
but of a sound mind & memory & calling to
mind the uncertainty of human life does
make this her last will & testament in man:
:ner following
   First she commits her soul to 
God who gave it & her body to Xtian burial.
   Secondly she leaves & bequethes to her
grandson William Gell her right & share
of the horses & to his brothers Edwd & John Gell
her right & title to her sheep.
   Thirdly to her son John Gell she leaves the
sum of ten pounds.
   Fourthly to her son William Gell she bequeathed
the sum of five pounds.
   Fifthly she bequeathed to her daughter
Catharine Shimmin alias Gell the sum of
five pounds, & also her bed & best cloathes.
   Sixthly she leaves to her grandson John
Shimmin one pound four shillings & six
pence - to her grandaughter Chatharine
Shimmin she likewise bequeathes one
pound four shillings & sixpence, she leaves
her also her little spinning wheel & her cloak
she leaves to Richard Cubbon's wife
blanket.
   To her daughter in law Isable Gell
she leaves her big wheel & a gown.
   To the poor of the Parish she bequeathed
the sum of twelve shillings & her wearing
apparel.
   Lastly she nominated or names
her loving husband John Gell her
whole & sole Exr of all the rest of her goods
chattles & effects moveable & immoveable
of what kind or nature soever.

The Exor is sworn in Court in form of law &
hath given pledges for the payment of debts
and legacies namely John Keen and
John Gawn both of Rushin
             Probatum est
             Thos Cubbon
             
I William Gell son of the Testarix Margt Gell
do hereby acknowledge to have recd the sum of five
pounds a legacy bequeathed me by the last will and
testamt of my sd mother & I do hereby acquit release
exonerate and discharge the Exrs of the last will and
testamt of my sd mother of all claims or demands
respecting the same as witness my hand the 26th
Decr 1799
