The last will and testament of Cath Callow als Caine, wife of Wm Callow of
Ballachrink in the parish of Braddan: being of sound & perfect mind &
memory at the making hereof the 6th day of June 1797 as follows
First She commended her soul to God & her body to Christian burial
Item She left & bequeathed to her daughter Catherine ten pounds of the
money which was in the hands of her son Wm (due from sd Wm on acct of a
deed of settlement) the bed & bedding which her sd daughter at present did
lie upon; the cloath that was in the Tuck-mill for blankets: and the half
of her household furniture.
Item She left to her said daughter Cath. & her four sons namely John,
Nichs, Thos & James all her part of the linen & yarn or thread; equally
between them: & all the goods she gave them heretofore she left them likewise.
Item She left to her son John's daughter namely Anne Callow the bed &
bedding which she (sd testatrix) was lying thereon; and the other half of
the household furniture.
Item She left to her son Wm. her part of the bed & bedding that he lay
upon; all her part of the sheep, save what would be used at her burial; he
sd Wm giving unto her son Thomas's son namely John one lamb she left also
to her sd son Wm all the balance or remainder of the money which sd Wm was
owing by & on acct. of the settlement aforesaid save & except what he paid
unto & on account of her two sons, Thos & James, the same she left to
themselves sd Thos & James.
Item She left to her son Edwd two guineas, if he himself come to receive
the same.
Item She left to her grand son (Nichs Callow's son) namely Wm. Callow, a
guinea.
Item She left to her four sons, viz. John, Nicholas, Thomas & James all her
part of the horses, cattle and the crop of corn & potatoes to be enjoyed
equally between them.
Item She left to all the children of the sd Jno. Nichs Thos & James, & to
the wife of the sd James, equally betwixt them, all her apparel, woolen &
linen.
Lastly She left & bequeathed to her son John Callow aforesaid whom she
likewise constituted and appointed (the whole & sole) Executor of this her
last will & Testament. All the residue of her Goods, Chattels, Rights &
Effects; moveable & immoveable of what kind soever.
