Malew This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Mary Creer als Shimmin of the parish Malew who depart- ed this life the 30th May 1797 and was committed to res- ting on the 2nd June following. First - she committed her soul to God and her body to Christian burial Secondly – She bequeathed to her loving husband john Creer her share of the bed she then lay on, with all the bed cloathes belonging to the said bed and a butt of corn barley. Thirdly – She bequeathed to her son Thomas Creer the choice blanket and sheet in the house – the pattern of a shirt of flaxen linen half of a tow web which was at that time at the weavers, and whatever remained of the price of the cow after the funeral charges were paid out of price of said cow – and in case her son Thomas Creer should not return from abroad the above Legacy was to fall to her two daughters viz Elin’r Creer & Elizabeth Taubman als Creer Fourthly – She left to her son Robt Creer 5 kishens of Barley and 1 kishen wheat and a spinning wheel to her son Roberts younger daughter viz Isable Creer. Fifthly – She left to her son John Creer the sum of 2/6 Sixthly – She left to her daughter Elizabeth Taubman als Creer the sum of 2/6 Lastly – She left to her daughter Elin’r Creer all the rest of her goods mova- ble & immovable – and the said Elin’r being an idiot she is given in charge to her daughter Elizabeth Taubman als Creer who is to have the management of her, and all things belonging to her the said Elin’r Creer. Witnesses present Marg’t Quayle my mk x jurati Esther Shimmin my mk x At a Chapter court holden at Castletown June 21st 1797 John Taubman husband of Elizabeth Creer is sworn exor in trust agreeable to the will, and hath given pledges for the payment of Debts, Legacies namely William Taggart & Paul Bridson - ???? and to bring to the Registry a perfect inventory Probatum est Ev Christian Wm Clucas
