84       Maughold
In the name of God Amen. I William Christian 
---r.[in left fold] of Ballaterson in the Parish of 
KK Maughold bring [at] present much indisposed in 
body but of sound & disposing mind memory & 
understanding & calling to mind the uncertainty 
of this mortal life & to avoid all disputes, do 
make my will and Testament in manner following:    
I commend my soul to God & my body to Christian burial.    
I give & bequeath unto my son Thos & my daughter 
Elinor the sum of twenty shillings each as Legacy 
and to my daughter Jane I leave & bequeath the 
sum of forty shillings as Legacy.    
To my daughter Catharine I bequeath the sum of 
five shillings a Legacy.   
To my sons Wm & Robert & my daughter Isabel I leave 
& bequeath the sum of two shillings & six pence each 
as Legacy.    
And to my foresaid daughters Jane & Elinor I further 
leave & bequeath a feather bed apiece.    
I give devise and bequeath all my part or share of 
the Curragh called Curragh-Ballure unto my beloved 
wife Elinor Christian,   
& Lastly I do hereby constitute nominate & appoint 
my said beloved wife Elinor Christian sole Executrix 
& residuary Legatee of all the rest of my goods 
credits chattels & effects be the same of what kind 
or denomination soever, As witness my subscription 
this 5th day of Septr 1797.  Wm Christian.
