Braddan This is the last will and testament of me Hester Crebbin of Douglas widow made and published by me the 16th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred. I give and bequeath to each of my dear sons one guinea. And I give devise bequeath unto and equally amongst my dear daughters the heirs executors administrators and assigns as tenant in common my half or moiety of the lands and tenements in the parish of Lonan mentioned in the joint will of my late husband and myself which bear date the 8th Jan 1797. The other half or moiety of the said lands and tenements having been already devised to and equally amongst my said daughters in and by the said joint will. And I give and bequeath to and equally amongst my said daughters all and singular my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever. And do constitute and appoint my kind friend Robert Heywood Esquire and my son Paul Crebbin executors of this my will and guardians if such of my daughters as may not have attained the age of twenty one years at my decease. Witness my hand the day month and year aforesaid. Hester Crebbin Witness Richard Symons Nicholas Christian In case any doubt at law may cause with respect to my power of disposing of the lands and tenements in the foregoing will mentioned. Know all Men by these presents that I the said Hester Crebbin in consideration of the natural love and affection that I have for and toward my said daughters namely Hester Whiting, Catherine Crebbin, Isabella Grice, Jane Crebbin, Elizabeth Crebbin and Mary Crebbin I have given granted settled and executed and by these presents do give grant settle and excute unto and upon the land and tenements mentioned and devised in and by my said will in like manner or the same are given devised therein and thereby To Have and To Hold to them their heirs exors admors and assigns as tenants in common, from and immediately after my decease for ever Provided nevertheless that it shall always be in my power during my life to revoke alter or make void these presents in whole or in part as I may think proper as witness my hand the 16th August 1800. Hester Crebbin acknowledged the foregoing Deed of Settlement to be her proper act and deed. Before Me John Cosnahan. Paul Crebbin being off the island so Robert Heywood Esqr sworn executor with pledges being the witnesses The humble petition of Paul Crebbin at present of the town of Douglas a Captain in his Majesty's Royal Marine Forces eldest son and heir of Wm Crebbin formerly of the said town Merchant some time since deceased and Hester his wife also deceased. Sheweth: That your petitioner being a length of time abroad in actual service Robert Heywood Esquire of the town of Douglas upon the decease of your petr's Father and Mother acted as attorney for your petitioner in his affairs. But the said Robert Heywood being lately deceased and your petitioner being now upon the island. He therefore humbly prays that your Reverence may cloath him with full powers to act in his own affairs as expectiously as possible the line of his duties requiring such being liable to be called upon his Majesty's Service and your petitioner will pray. At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael 29th Sep 1808 Upon hearing the matters of this petition and it appearing that Robert Heywood Esqr who was appointed Exors in Trust of the will of Hester Crebbin deceased in the absence of the petitioner who was appointed Executor has lately departed this life. The petitioner is therefore sworn duly to fulfil the last will and testament of his mother Hester Crebbin late decease to pay all her just debts and legacies so far forth as the goods will extend and the law bind him to which end he has given pledges in form of law namely James Quirk and John Lucas Esqrs.
