Articles of Agreement made & constuded upon by and between Philip Kewley of
Gretch Veg in the parish of Kk Lonnon on the one part and James Kewley his
Son and Heir of said parish on the other part are as Follows ­
First It is agreed upon by and between the Said parties that the Said
Philip Kewley does for and in consideration of the Love good will and
affectionate He has Towards his Said loving Son James Kewley do in regard
to the afairs herein after mentioned do hereby Give and Surrender unto him
the Said Son and Heir James Kewley all his Share of the Quarterland of Said
Gretch veg with the Intacks thereunto belonging to be fully and legally
possessed of the aforesaid premises from and after the day of the date
hereof w[ith?] all my Crop of Corn and Hay now threshed and unthreshed with
the benifit of what the Said lands produces yearly Together with all my
Goods moveable & immoveable of what nature or Denomination So ever He the
Said Son James Kewley paying all Demands arising due on The Said premises
yearly
Seconly It is agreed upon by the Said par[ties] That the Said James Kewley
for a[nd] in consideration of the beforegoing agreement and for the regard
he h[as] for his Dutiful father is now be[...] infirm and Crep'd in age Do
hereby promise to maintain support & do every thing necessary towards him
in Sickness and health let it be what it [...]
Thirdly It is agreed upon by the Said parties that the Said Philip Kewley
Shall have the use & benifit of his own Sheep during his own natural life
as also The use & benifit of the old Largy now demised to my Self and use
during my life time
Fourthly It is agreed upon by the sd parties and for performance hereof He
the Said Philip Kewley with James Kewley his Son Do hereby bind & oblige
themselves their Heirs admrs and assigns mutually in and under the penalty
and Forfeiture of one Hundred pounds Sterling to be Levied and paid
according to Law
As Witness their names hereunto Subscribed this the 18th Day of January 1802
