16 Douglas In the Name of God Amen I John Creer Shoemaker of the Town of Douglas Do think of the uncertainty of this mortal life being weak in body but of good Disposing mind memory & understanding do make this my Last Will and Testament in the following manner viz - First I commit my Soul to Almighty God and my body after Death to a Deasent Christian burial hoping Through the merits of my Blessed Saviour for A Joyful Resurrection as for the goods and Effects That the Almighty has Blesst me with I leave as followeth. Item I leave and bequeath unto my Eldest Daughter Elizabeth John Cains wife the sum of one pound one Shilling British Item I leave and Bequeath unto Margret my Daughter Robt Kellys wife The sum of one pound one Shilling British Item I Leave and bequeath unto my Eldest son William Creer the sum of five pounds British Item I leave And Bequeath unto Robert my Son the sum of Twenty Pounds British and also all the tools and utensils belong- ing to the Shoemaker trade Item I leave and bequeath unto my Daughters namely Jane - Catherine - Christian and Elenor the Sum of ten pounds ten shillings British Each I Leave two shillings and sixpence Legacy to any person or persons that may have aright Claim to my Effects Lastly I Nominate Constitute and Appoint My Loving Wife Margret Creer alias Hampton To be whole and sole Executrix of all the rest of my worldly goods and Effects moveable and immoveable of all kinds and nature whatsoever and this I do Declare to be my Last Will and Testament this 21 day of March 1804.
