49      Ballaugh
Ballaugh January 3rd 1804
I Thomas Clarke of Ballavolley in said parish of Ballaugh being sick in
body and calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal life do make and
declare this my last will and testament in manner following:
First:  I recommend my soul unto God and my body unto Christian burial. Also
I leave and bequeath unto my grandchildren namely Esther Ratcliffe, John
Quayle, Thomas Clark and Anne Cannell the sum of ten shillings and six pence
British each in case they shall attain to the age of twenty one years but in
case either of the said children shall depart this life  before they arrive
at the said age that child's legacy is not to be paid.
Also I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Esther now the wife of John
Quayle the sum of five pounds five shillings British to be paid her at the
expiration of thirteen months after my decease.
Also I leave and bequeath unto my brother Robert Clark the pick ax that
he lately borrowed of me and also my black waistcoat.
Also I leave and bequeath unto my son Thomas the sum of three pounds British
and the whole of my shaped apparel woollen and linnen to be paid him at the
expiration of thirteen months after my decease.
Also I leave and bequeath unto my two daughters Catharine and Elinor the sum
of sixty two pounds and eleven shillings equally between them the
consideration money mentioned in a deed of settlement, granted by me unto my
son and heir John Clark of the estate of lands called Ballavolley and
payable by him after my decease.
Also I leave and bequeath unto my loving wife Jane Clark all and singular
my household furniture and whateve rgoods and effects that shall belong
to or in my  dwelling house at my decease.
Also I leave and bequeath one shilling each to any person or persons who has
any right to object against this my last will and testament.
And lastly I leave and bequeath unto my said loving wife Jane Clark unto
my said two daughters namely Catharine and Elinor all and singular the
rest of my cash, goods, and effects of whatever nature equally between them.
And also do nominate and appoint my said loving wife Jane Clark
and my said two daughters Catharine and Elinor sole and whole co-executrixes
of this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name the day and date
above mentioned.

The executrixes are sworn in court in form of law and also to be true and
just the one to the other in the division of the goods and have given
pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of
