145      Maughold
In the name of God Amen.
The last will and testament of Catharine Callow alias Cowin wife of
Simon Callow of the parish of KK Maughold being weak of body but of
sound and well disposing mind and memory at the making hereof which
was worded by her the 8th day of this present month of November and
committed to writing the 12 day of said month by as the subscribing
witnesses.
Imp:  She committed her soul to God and her body to a Christian burial.
Item: She left and bequeathed to her son John the bed he now sleeps on with
a bolster, sheet, blanket, and quilt belonging to the same.
Item:  She bequeathed a bed, bolster, blanket, and coverlet, a brown stuff
gown, manks made her capes, ribbons, and shifts, her cotton bedgown, stamped
bedgown , a petticoat of blue linsey woolsey a black silk handkerchief,
white and cotton ditto, a white apron, a check apron, and a smoothing iron
to her daughters Isabel, she the said Isabel is to give her sister Catharine
some of the saud caps and two shifts.
Item:  She bequeathed a brown English stuff gown and an old cotton bedgrown,
a check apron, the gown and petticoat she now weareth, a striped petticoat
to her daughter Catharine.
Item:  She bequeathed a blue gown and a black petticoat to her daughter
Jane.
Item:  She bequeathed her best check apron and blue stuff petticoat to her
daughter Judy.
Item:  She bequeathed five shillings to her son William Callow.
Item:  She bequeathed her black cloak equally to her two grandsons
Edward Corlett and Thos Callow.
Lastly She nominated constituted and appointed her affectionate husband
Simon Callow whole and sole executor of the residue of her worldly
effects of what kind or denomination whatsoever.  As witness our names or
marks this November 12 1806.

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre 28th June 1808.
The executor is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the
payment of debts and legacies vizt William Kelly and Samuel Corkill both of
KK Maughold.
