Know all men by thes Presents
that I Catharine Sayle (widow & relict
of John Sayle) of the Ballabane in
the parish of KK Andreas for and
in consideration of the naturl
affection maternal love and tender
regard which I have and do bear
unto my well beloved son Christopher
Sayle of the said parish also for
and in consideration of the several
covenants conditions and restrictions
herein after mentioned to be some
and performed by my said son
Christopher Have given granted
estated and confirmed and settled
and by these presents do give grant

estate confirm and for ever absolutely
settle to and upon my said son
Christopher his Exors and Assigns
all and singular my whole right
title property and interest of in an
unto a certain meadow or parcel of
intack land to me belonging (which
my said husband purchased from the
late William Clark of the West
nappin in the parish of Jurby)
situate in the said parish of Andreas
and known and distinguished by
the name of Close-Clark. And further
by these presents I do hereby give
grant and confirm unto my said
son Christopher Sayle all and singular

my goods debts live beasts crop of
corn husbandry gears household stuff
bedding and all other my substance
whatsoever moveable and immoveable
of what kind nature quality or
condition soever the same are or
may be and in what place of places
soever the same be shall or may be found
as well in mine own custody or
possession as in the possession hands
power or custondy of my son Thomas
Sayle or in the possession hands
power or custody of any other person
or persons whatsoever, To have
and to hold all and singular the
said parcel of land and all other

the said premises unto my said son
Christopher his Exors and assigns
to his or their own proper use
and behoofs to be freely and quietly
possessed by him immediately he
may said son Christopher binding
and obliging himself his Exors and
assigns to maintain and provide
for me in my old and feeble condit=
=tion and to procure and provide
for me all the necessaries of life
in a decent and becoming manner
during my natural life and also
to see me buried in decent christian
burial and to pay alll my just
and lawful debts and to give two

ewes to my son Thomas after my
decease. And for the true and
faithfull performance of all and
singular the before going Deed of
Settlement and every clause and
sentence therein contained I the
said Catherine Sayle do hereby
bind and oblige myself my
heirs, exors and assigns in
penalty of sixty pounds sterling
to be levied and paid according
to law as witness my name and
mark hereunto set this 11th day of
December 1806

the subscribing witnesses to the before written
Deed of Settlement made oath on the
holy Evangelists that Catharine Sayle
duly executed the same in presence
of the Deponts and Christoper Sayle
the other executing party to the said
Deed of Settlement acknowledged
the same to be his proper act
and deed.

      Michael Ayre & Garth the 26th of Octr 1807
The before going Deed having been

proved and acknowledged before a
Deemster and being now openly
published in Court and no objection
offered against it. The same is ordered
to be recorded.

The beforegoing Deed of Settlement having
been lawfully proved the same is accepted as
and for the last will & testament of
Sayle the donor & Christopher Sayle the
     Exor in Court in form of law & hath given pledges
