    The humble Petition of Thos. Quayle Wm. Kirmeen
    John Kerruish & Hugh Karran of the parish of KK
    Maughold 
Sheweth
             That Robert Corkill of Ballasloe in the said
    Parish departed this Life in the month of December
    last past, That the said Robert Corkill was con – 
    siderably indebted to your Petitrs. at the time of
    his decease – 
                        That your Petitrs. are apprehensive
    there will not be Effects sufficient to pay the Debts
    unless some proper person be immediately Authorized
    to secure & dispose of the said effects to the best
    advantage
          Your Petitrs. therefore pray your Reverence
          will order this Petition to be heard the first
          Court day, that the widow & next of Kin to the
          deceased may be ordered to produce his Will
          if such there be And that some proper person
          may be legally Authorized to manage the
          sd. deceadants Estate for the benefit of your
          Petitrs. & other Creditors & Petitrs. will pray &C

          Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard
                 me
          before ^ at a Court to be holden at Chas. Kewin’s in the
          parish of KK Bride on Saturday the 16th Instant
          whereof all proper parties and persons to have due
          Notice ___

16th day of January 1808

   Robert Corkill of the parish of Kirk Maughold
departed this Life in or about the month of December
last past, but previously thereto had made his last Will
and Testament, and appoints his Wife Catharine 
Exorx. thereof the burden of which Office she has this 
day refused to undertake _ the Court in consequence
of such refusal, and of the Petition of Thomas Quayle
William Kermeen and others alledged principal
Creditors of the said Decedent hath for the preserva =
= tion of their Rights and of all others interested in
his Estate and Effects, committed the Administrati
=on of all and singular the Goods Rights Credits
Chattels and Effects of the said Robert Corkill
unto them the sd. Thos. Quayle and Wm. Kermeen,
with the sd. Will annexed, in trust for the Benefit
of all persons concerned – And they are thereupon
sworn well and truly to administer the sd. Goo..[Seal Mark]
Rights Credits Chattels and Effects, to return a perfect
                  to
Inventory thereof ^ the Regry. of this Court, to pay all
the just debts of the sd. Robert Corkill so far forth
as his Goods and Effects will extend and the Law
shall bind them – and to be accountable for their
Administration when thereunto required To which
end they have given pledges in form of Law, namely
John Kneale Brewer of the Town of Ramsey, and 
Hugh Carran of the parish of KK Maughold.

                At a Court holden at KK Bride 23rd Apr. 1808 ~
                John Corkill and William Corkill Brethren to
                and Ewan Kissack and John Karran relations
                of Robert Corkill of KK Maughold dec’d are
                sworn in Court in form of Law Guardians and
                supervisors of his the said Robert Corkill’s 
                Children.

To be recorded with the Decree &c &c of the said
Robt. Corkill.

                                KK Maughold the 8th Decr.  1807

This is affirmed to be the last will and Testament of Robert
Corkill of Ballasloe in the Parish of KK Maughold
Expressed by him on the day of the date above being of Sound
disposing mind and Memory at the Making of the same
He first committed his Soul to Almighty God and his
body to Christian like Burial And then disposed of his
Worldly Effects in the form and Manner following _
Imprimis  He left and bequeathed Unto his Eldest Daughter
Catharine the Sum of Five Pounds as Legacy
Item  He left and bequeathed Unto his youngest Daughter
Sarah the Sum of Five Pounds as Legacy __
Item  He left and bequeathed Unto his only Son Robert
the sum of One Guinea as Legacy  __  __  __  __   __
Lastly  He Nominated Constituted and Appointed his
Loving wife Catharine Whole and Sole Executrix of all &
every the Remainder and Residue of his Worldly Effects 
Moveable and Imoveable of What ever Kind or Nature soever
And also left four Shillings each to the Witnesses of this
his last will and Testament & the sum of one half Crown
each to all Cravers  As Witness our Names the date
