John Skillicorn 1810 Lonan A5 In the name of God Amen. I John Skillicorn of the parish of KK Lonan bein very sick and weak but of perfect mind and memory; calling unto mind the Mortality of my body, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament, viz – I recommend my Soul to God that gave it and my body to be buried in a decent Christian burial and as touching my Worldly goods and Effects I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form First, I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Margaret Two pounds two shillings British Item I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Two pounds two shillings British Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elinor Five shillings British Item I give and bequeath to my son John Ten shillings and sixpence British Lastly I give to my well beloved wife Margaret the residue of all my goods, credits, chattles and Effects - whom I likewise constitute make and ordain the sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament all in singular my Lands and Tenements to her to be freely enjoyed during her naturally Life ^ (and afterwards my Lands and premises to be posessed by right by my son John) and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament this 20th September 1809 In presence of [no signature] Witnesses his Charles Skillicorn X mk | Jur his Robert Hodgon X mk At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas the 22nd May 1810 - The Execx is sworn in Court in form of Law & hath given pledges for the payment of Debts & Legacies namely the witnesses of the Will - she moreover having consented to the demise of the Lands to her eldest son John as expressed in the Will.
