Note: There are many others who entered claims against William Corlett which are very long and then there is an Account of Sale of the Goods and Effects etc and funeral expenses and other disbursements which I did not copy.


50           Ballaugh
In the name of God Amen.
I William Corlett Parish Clerk of Ballaugh being sick and infirm in body
but of sound mind memory and understanding do make my last will and
testament in manner following.
First I commit my soul to God and body to Christian burial.
I bequeath and leave to my son Thomas Corlett the whole of my
purchased lands situate in Ballaugh aforesaid called Close E Callow and
Cronk E Cheeny subject to the payment of eighty pounds British to be
well and truly made unto my daughter namely Ellinor , Jane, and Margaret
Corlett  by my said son and his guardians within one year next ensuing
my decease but in default of the payment of the said sum before the
expiration of the before mentioned limited period then and in that case. And
not otherwise my will and desire is that my aforesaid daughter may and shall
enter upon the possession of the said respective premises
lands and join unanimously in the sale thereof to divide the
consideration money arising from such sale of the premises among them
in joint and equal proportions share and share alike, leaving my said son
that case five shillings as legacy.  I will to my daughters Ellinor and
Margaret two pounds British each and to my daughter Jane the sum of
nine pounds British as legacies.
I bequeath and leave all the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels
credits and effects whatever to my daughter Ellinor,  Jane and Margaret whom
I also nominate and constitute sole and whole
executrixes and residuary legatees of this my last will and testament.
And lastly I constitute and appoint Thomas Keggin of Mallen and my son
in law Patrick Caine of the parish of Jurby guardians of my said son Thomas
being a minor and my will and desire is that in case my said son happens to
die before his attainment to the age of twenty one years or without issues
whereby my eldest daughter Ellinor aforesaid or her heirs may become
entitled unto the estate of land of Carmodil Beg then in that case and not
otherwise my said daughter Ellinor or her heirs executors administrator or
assigns shall and will give up or refund her part of the before mentioned
executorship unto my daughter Jane and Margaret who are to enjoy the same
equally between them. As witness my subscription this Nineth day of June One
thousand eight hundred and ten 1810.

The before written will was read and signed by the testator and declared to
be his last will and testament in presence of us.   Thos Corlett and D
N. Stephen
Patrick Caine husband to Elinor Corlett, and Margaret Corlett are both sworn
in court in form of law, and to be true and just to each other to their
absent co-executrix in the division of effects and have given
pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of

June 29th 1811 Cath Crenolt widow enters a claim against the estate of
William Corlett late deceased for the sum of ten pounds twelve shillings
Manx and craves the law.
