		In the Name of God Amen
	I John Davis being about
to depart this Isle and entering into
His Majesty's Navy taking into
consideration the ___ ___ ___ only
of this life And for the settlement of
my Worldly [affairs] do make this
my last Will and Testament

1st I bequeath my soul to God and my
Body to Christian burial

2nd I leave and bequeath unto my loving
wife Jane Davis all and singular my
house lands and and principle _____
in the Parish of KK Maughold of what
nature soever To hold with her as 
her absolute property without the 
______ ______ ______  of any person or
persons whatsoever

Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint
my s'd wife Jane Davis sole Executrix
of all the rest of my Goods and Effects
of what nature whatsoever In 
witness whereof I have hereunto left
my name this 14th December 1807

		for the payment of Debts and

		of the Witnesses and John Kermeen
		of the Town of Ramsey
				Probatum est
				Tho. Cubbon

Oct. 16th 1812 Catherine Thompson enters a
Claim against the Estate of John Davis for the sum
Of £12.0 British and craves the Law.

[Transcriber's note: The above Will was written and signed in December 1807. 
In 1812 Jane Davis the Executor and wife of John Davis had to make a request to 
have the Will above probated, and a hearing was held prior to the probate above, 
at which John Davis's father Thomas Davis and Wm. Straney a witness were ordered 
to appear.  John Davis had apparently died away from home presumably in the Navy 
in December 1811.]
