In the name of God Amen,  I Edmund Daugherdy resident on the
Quarterland of Canaugh and Parish of Lezayre being of sound and disposing
mind, memory and understanding and calling to mind, and considering the
uncertainty of this mortal life, and certainty of death do make publish and
declare this my last will and testament in manner following.
First I commit my soul to Almighty God and my Gracious Redeemer and
by body to a Christian burial.
Item I leave and bequeath unto my son Edmond all my share and right and
title to all my purchased, and bequeathed lands, both in Lezayre and
Ballaugh or elsewhere, I also will and direct, that the said lands do go
and shall pass and descend in the nature of inheritance, also I leave and
bequeath unto my daughter Catharine the sum of fifty pounds sterling.
I leave and bequeath unto my son Charles the sum of thirty pounds
sterling.
I also leave and bequeath unto my son William the sum of three pounds
and three shillings sterling.
I also will and direct that if any of children will strive, dispute or
commence any law suit with or against the executor hereafter
mentioned, in order to break through and over turn this my last will and
testament, that then and in that case, he, or she, so offending shall
forfeit all his or her right and title to the before mentioned legacies
bequeathed unto them and to be excluded with a six pence as legacy. Lastly I
nominate, constitute, and appoint my son Edmond sole executor
of all the remainder of my goods, chattels credits and effects of what name
and nature or denomination soever.  He paying unto the witnesses
of this my last will and testament half a crown each, this the Twentieth day
of March 1812.

In an Ecclesiastical Court holden at Maughold 22 Jan 1813.
The executor is sworn in court in form of law and hath given in pledges
for the payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of the will
Probatum Est    Thos Cubbon

William Caine husband of Catharine Caine otherwise Daugherdy
acknowledge to have received from Edmund Daugherdy the legacy of fifty
pounds sterling bequeath unto the said Catherine Caine and in and by the
within will of Edmund Daugherdy decease, and exonerates acquits and release
and discharges the said Edmund Daugherdy the executor  and his executors
administrators and assigns of the said legacy.
As witness his subscription this 2nd day of December 1813.
