5     Lonan
In the name of God Amen.
I Amelia Stowell of the parish of Kirk Lonan considering the uncertainty
of human life and being in sound and disposing mind memory and understanding
do make and publish my last will and testament in manner following.
First I commend my soul to God thro the merits of my Blessed Redeemer and my
body to Christian burial.
Item I leave and bequeath to my sons Hugh and Thomas and to my daughters
Ann, Amelia, Elizabeth, Catharine and Nessy the sum of one guinea each, and
the same sum to every child that I may hereafter have. Item I leave and
bequeath the sum of six pence a piece to all lawful claimers.
And lastly I leave and bequeath to my husband Hugh Stowell all my other
goods chattels effects and property of what kind or nature soever.
Hereby constituting and appointing my said husband whole and sole executor
of this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name this 1st day of June one
thousand eight hundred and twelve.        Amelia Stowell
