12     Braddan 

In the name of God, amen. I Robert Creere of Balla-
Moddey in the Parish of Braddan, being of sound and perfect mind & 
memory, do make this my least will and testament in form following.  First 
I commend my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.  Item, I leave 
and bequeath to my grandchildren, the daughters of John 
Collister, namely Margaret Jane, Mary, Catharine, 
Elizabeth & Ann Collister the sum of ten shillings British apiece.  
Item, I leave to my daughter Margaret Hampton a guinea and 
also to her four children (viz. Matthias, Elizabeth, Margaret and 
Jonathan a guinea apiece.  Item, I leave and bequeath to my two 
grandchildren namely Philip & Elizabeth Bridson, a guinea 
each, to be paid them at or as they come to the age of fourteen years.  
Item, I leave to the poor of the parish a guinea.  Lastly, I leave and 
bequeath to my son Matthias Creere, whom I likewise constitute 
and appoint (the whole and sole) executor of this my last will and 
testament all the residue and remainder of my goods, chattels, rights and 
effects of what species or denomination soever. Witness my name this 
27th day of January 1810.

At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas the 30th 
May 1815, the executor is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given 
pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of 
the will.
