In the name of God, Amen. I ANN DURIE of the town of Douglas 
being of sound mind and memory, first I commend my soul to 
Almighty God who gave it, hoping through the merits of my 
blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to obtain pardon for all my sins, 
and my body to Christian burial. 
Secondly, I leave to my dear SISTER STEVENSON the sum of twenty 
pounds British. I leave to my NEPHEW MR. EDWARD MOORE the sum 
of twenty pounds British and MR. DURIE'S gold watch. I leave 
to my NEPHEW MR. JAMES MOORE the sum of twenty pounds British 
and a large oak press. I leave to my NIECE ELIZABETH MOORE the 
interest of 200 pounds being on a note of my LATE NEPHEW MR. 
JAMES KELLY for five hundred and fifty pounds British which 
note when paid she is to receive two hundred pounds with the 
interest due thereon. I leave to my NIECE MRS JANE WOOD thirty 
pounds British for mourning. I leave to my NEPHEW CAPTAIN 
EDWARD CLARK the sum of twenty pounds British. I leave and bequeath 
to my NIECE SARAH CLARK all my household furniture except what 
is mentioned, plate, books, ... stores of every kind, my gold 
watch, and all my apparel, the use of my dwelling house during 
life, keeping the same in proper repair, and I do appoint her 
my executrix to receive and pay all my debts and pay off all 
the legacy. I also leave her the interest of three hundred and 
fifty pounds on MR. JAMES KELLY's note and when paid, must be 
placed on good security, when my NEPHEW JOHN KELLY arrives at 
the age of 21 years. And I do leave and bequeath to my NEPHEW MR. 
JAMES MOORE my dwelling house after the demise of my NIECE SARAH 
CLARK, and if in case he does not possess the house before his 
demise, it may be disposed of for the benefit of his children, 
he appointing a proper person for them. And I do further appoint 
my NEPHEW MR. JAMES MOORE my executor in trust to aforesaid SARAH 
CLARK in receiving my depts and paying off legacy and I further 
leave and bequeath him twenty pounds British. I leave and bequeath 
to MRS. EDWARD MOORE five guineas, a mourning ring, and a fine 
table cloth with fruit and flowers. I leave and bequeath to MRS. 
JAMES MOORE five guineas, a mourning ring, and a fine table cloth, 
the same. I leave to MRS. JOSEPH CLARK a mourning ring and five 
guineas. I leave to MRS. EDWARD CLARK a mourning ring and five 
guineas. I leave to MRS. FAITH KELLY a mourning ring. I leave to 
my GRANDNIECE MRS THOMAS STOWELL five guineas. I leave to my 
GRANDNIECE MISS CHRISTIAN WATTLEWORTH five guineas. I leave to 
my NEPHEW MR. JAMES CLARK one guinea, and all claimers one shilling. 
I also leave to the poor of this town six guineas to be distributed 
by the clergyman of St Matthews Chapel the first Festival after 
my decease. And where as, it is my desire after the demise of my 
NIECE SARAH CLARK, I do appoint my NEPHEW MR. EDWARD MOORE, with 
my NEPHEW MR. JAMES MOORE to be joint executors in trust, and I 
further bequeath to my NEPHEW EDWARD MOORE the sum of twenty pounds 
British out of the remainder of the sum of 350 pounds of Mr James 
Kelly's note. I leave to JOHN KELLY and HIS SISTER CHRISTIAN KELLY 
each fifty pounds British. I leave and bequeath to MRS. JANE WOOD 
and children the sum of fifty pounds British. I bequeath to the 
CHILDREN OF MY NEPHEW JOSEPH CLARK'S THREE SONS, RICHARD, JOSEPH, 
AND JAMES, each ten pounds AND THREE DAUGHTERS, ANN, MARGARET, 
AND ELIZABETH each ten pounds. I leave and bequeath to my NIECE 
CHRISTIAN WATTLEWORTH the sum of twenty pounds and to her BROTHER 
JAMES WATTLEWORTH ten pounds. I leave and bequeath to JOHN MOORE 
twenty pounds British, and to EDWARD AND PHILIP each ten pounds 
British. I leave to each of my NEPHEW'S CAPTAIN EDWARD CLARK'S 
CHILDREN ten pounds British, these legacies to be paid to the 
survivors of them when my NEPHEW JOHN KELLY pays off his father's 
note and the demise of my NIECE SARAH CLARK who is to have the 
interest of 350 pounds during her life. If in case of the death 
of any of the legatees that ... them all such legacy's shall become 
the property of THOMAS DURIE, SON TO MR J. T. MOORE. And if in 
the case of his demise to be HIS FATHER'S MR. JAMES MOORE, and 
I do appoint him my executor in trust with my NIECE SARAH CLARK 
whereunto I've signed my name and set my seal in the presence 
of the Revd. Joseph Qualtrough and Doctor Currie this seventeenth 
day of December one thousand eight hundred and thirteen.
