55 Andreas To the Rev Thomas Cubbon Vicar General. The humble petition of Thomas Radcliffe and Jane his wife. Sheweth That on the 12th day of January last past Jane Lace of the parish of Andreas departed this life but previous thereto made her last will and testament whereby she nominated your petitioners executors of her said will. That the principal part of the goods and effects of the deceased are in a perishable state and require the attention and interference of your petitioners. Your petitioners humbly pray a hearing of this petition and that probate of the said will may be granted to your petitioners or such other relief as to your Reverence may seem meet and your petitioners will pray Ordered that this petition [do come on to be heard] at an appeal court to be holden at Ramsey Thursday next. Although proper hearing of a parson xxx to here dive nether ...(illegible)... thus on ? July 1812. The last will and testament of Ann Lace of the parish of Andreas this 5th day of September 1815. I commit my soul (etc.) at the discretion of my executors and as for such worldly goods herewith it has pleased God to bless me with I dispose of the same in the manner following. I leave and beqeath all ...(illegible)... my grandchild Mary Radcliffe the daughter of my daughter Joney, two blankets, a sheet, two quilts legacy. I leave unto my grandchild Thomas Radcliffe son of my daughter Jane my biggest chest and prefs(?) a feather bed bolster with the clothing thereto belonging and curtains(?) legacy. I leave to my son John two shillings and sixpence legacy. Lastly nominate [ordain] and appoint my daughter Jane the wife of Thomas Radcliffe, Athol(?) sole executrix of the will, the rest of my goods moveably and immovable of what kind and dist...(illegible)... to heareby her peacebly. [Signatures] At an ecclesiastical court held in Ramsey the 15th September 1816 Thomas Radcliffe husband of Jane above mentioned is sworn executor in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely the witness of the will.
