The humble petition of Isabella Kelly als Claigue of the parish of Kk Lonon
Sheweth
        
That Thomas Kelly of sd parish your Petrs husband departed this life on or
about the 21st of Jany last past, that some little time prior to his
decease, the sd Thomas Kelly decd made his last will and testament, wherein
and whereby he nominated, constituted and appointed your Petr whole and
sole Exx of all his effects
That there are several sums of money due to the estate of the sd decd which
require a speedy investigation
Your Petr therefore prays a hearing of this petition and that your Petr may
be sworn Exx (of the sd  deceased Thomas Kelly) in form of law, that she
may be authorized to act in the premises as the necessity of the case
requires and your Petr shall every pray etc etc


In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Kelly of Kk Lonan being now weak in Body
but of sound mind and memory and considering the uncerrtainty of this Life
do first recommend my soul to God and my Body to be buried in a decant
Christian manner, and as touching my Worldly goods and Effects I dispost of
them in manner following
Item I leave and bequeathe unto my son John the smithy with the smith Tools
as it is at present ­ together with my best wearing apperal
Item I leave and bequeath unto my Grandson Thomas son of John Kelly aforesd
my clock to be posses by him Immediately after the decease of Isaballa my wife
Item and whereas there are various sums of money due me and also some debts
I am Justly due and owing and to the end that the same may be honestly and
preperly settled ­ I leave and bequeathe all my books of accounts and [ ? ]
and the proceeds thereof Jointly between my loving wife and my son John
first to pay all my Just debts and the reaminder of such proceeds to be
divided between them the sd Isaballa my wife and my son John share and
share alike
Lastly I ordain nominate constitute and appoint my loving wife whole and
sole Executrix of all the rest of my goods whether movable or immovable and
leaving five shillings unto each person having a right to claim in this my
will and revoking all other wills I publish this to be my last will and
Testament in the presence of these witnesses this the 22 day of Jany 1816

At an Eccl Court holden at Laxey Feby 23, 1816 the Exx is sworn in Court in
form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies
namely the witnesses of the will
