   In the Name of God, Amen
   I James Lawson, baker of the town
   of Douglas being of Sound Mind and
   Memory at the Making thereof Comit
   ting my Soul to God and my Body
   to a Decent Christian Burial
   do certify this to be my last Will and Testament.
First I leave and Bequeath to my Six
   Children namely James John Thomas
   and Robert and Ann and Jane the
   sum of Seventy Pounds Brish Each
   and severaly and Provided that any
   of them Dies that his or her Legacy
   is to fall and Decend to the Rest
   Equally and the Interest thereof to
   their Mother until the Coming of Age
Secondly
   I appoint my Loving Wife Ann
   Lawson, alis Moore whole and sole
   Exurx of all my Goods of what nature
   and kind soever Paying all Claimers
   with Six pence Legacy

  The humble Petition of
  Anne Lawson, Widow of the late
  James Lawson of Douglas deceased
Sheweth
        That some time ago
  your Petitioner's husband, the said
  James Lawson, departed this life
  and previous thereto duly made his
  last will and Testament, and ap
  pointed your Petitioner whole and Sole
  Executrix of his said last will and
  Testament, Petitioner begs leave to
  State to your Reverence that the said
  Testators moiety or share of his
  Effects will not near pay or
  discharge the amount of the legacies
  bequeathed by him to his Children
  as Specifically mentioned by him
  in his said will, neither is there
  any date to the same, and the
  consequence of the Illegality of the said
  proceedings, petitioner cannot upon
  any account think of being Sworn
  Execturix of the said will.
       Wherefore your Petitioner
       pray's a hearing hereof and
       that as consequence of the
       said proceedings, your
       Reverence may be pleased
       to appoint some of the
       principal Creditors or the
       next of Kindred exclusive
       the said Children, or some
       other qualified and proper
       person, to be Sworn admi
       nistrator in trust of the
       said Estate for the general
       benefit of all Creditiors
       and parties concerned
       with such other redress as
       may appear to your Reverence
       and Petr will pray etc. etc. etc.
	   
	   
Ordered that this petition do come
on to be heard before me at a Court to be
holden in Douglas on the 23rd instant
Whereof all parties and person are to have
legal notice, given this 20th day of January
