Michael 1819 In the name of God Amen. I John Cannell of the KerrowGlass in the parish of KK Michael who being weak in body but of sound mind and memory in making my last will and testament. First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial. Secondly I leave and bequeath to my daughter Jane Cannell the sum of ten pounds British as legacy and that the said legacy is not to be paid till the said Jane Cannell comes to the age of two and twenty years. Thirdly I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Cannell the sum of twenty pounds British as legacy when she comes to the age of two and twenty years. Fourthly I leave and bequeath to the rest of my daughters Ann, Isabala, Eleanor, Mary and Elizabeth Cannell twenty pounds British each as legacy and that the said legacy is not to be paid till the said children comes to the age of two and twenty years and also my part of the sheep that is in the care of Wm Cowley between my children and also my sheep that is in the care of John Kaighin except ewe she lamb which is to be left for Mary my daughter beside her share of the rest of the sheep as legacy. Fifthly I leave to my wife Margaret Cannell Kaighin my part of my houses and lands during her natural life and after the decease of the said Margaret Cannell also Kaighin that the said moiety or part of my houses and lands to be possessed by my daughter Margaret Cannell and that the said Margaret Cannell is to pay fifty pounds British to be divided between the rest of my children as legacy at possessing the said houses and lands. Sixthly I leave and bequeath twenty shillings to the poor of the parish and also six pence to any person or persons that will claime in my last will and testament. Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my loving wife Margaret Cannell also Kaighin sole executor of all the rest of my goods and effects movable and immovable of whatsoever kind and nature. John Cannell my x Witnesses present John Quay John Kaighin jurati At a Chapter Court holden in Kirk Michael 27 Oct 1819 The executrix is sworn in court in form of law and also as guardian and supervisor of the children under age and that she hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely the witesses of the will. Stephen Episcopal Registry 25 June 1824 John Cannon husband of Jane Cannell in the foregoing will named appeared at the Registry this day and acknowledged to have received the legacies of ten pounds British left her in and by said will and hereby exonerates acquits and discharges the executrix her executors or administrators of the same and of every part thereof John Cannan Before Me Joseph Brown ER Received form the executrix of the within will the sum of one pound in and by being a legacy left to t he poor of the parish of KK Michael Witness my subscription this 25 June 1824 Joseph Brown vicar General Episcopal Registery. Episcopal Registry 25 June 1824 Charles Kaighin husband of Margaret Cannell in the foregoing will named appeared at the Registry this day and acknowledged to have received the legacy of twenty pounds British left her in and by the said will and hereby exonerates acquits and discharges the executrix her executors administrators of the same and of every part thereof. Charles Kaighin This before me Joseph Brown ER Thomas Lace husband of Isabella Cannell in the foregoing will named appeared at the Reigstry this day and acknowledged to have received the legacy of twenty pounds British left her in and by the said will and hereby exonerates acquits and discharges the executrix her executors and administrators of the same and of every part thereof. Thos Lace X mark This before Me Joseph Brown ER Ann Cannell one of the daughters of the testator appeared at the Registry this tenth of October 1886 and acknowledges to have received the legacy of twenty pounds British left her in and by this will and hereby exonerates acquits and discharges the executrix her executors administrators and assigns of the same and of every part thereof. Ann Cannell This before me Joseph Brown, ER Episcopal Registry l8th June 1829 Thomas Collister husband of Eleanor Cannell in the foregoing will named appeared at this Registry this day and acknowledged to have received the legacy of twenty pounds British left his said wife in and by the said will and hereby exonerates acquits and discharges the executrix her executors and administrators of the same and of every part thereof. Thos Collister x mark This before me Joseph Brown ER Received 30th June 1855 from Charles Kaighin and Mary his wife the within defendents the sum of eight pounds six shillings and eighty pence being the deceadants Mary's proportion of fifty pounds bequeathed by John Cannell to his children and the amount of the with in order in my favor. Brown DER At an Eccl Court held at Peel 25th May 1855 Between Thomas Dawson Admistrator of Mary Dawson Plaintiff and Charles Kaighin and Margaret his wife Defendants Upon hearing this cause in presence of the parties or their advocates I am of opinion the plaintiff is entitled to recover from the defendants the sum of eight pounds six shillings and eight pence being the deceadants Mary's proportion of fifty pounds bequeathed by John Cannell to his children ordered therefore that the said defendant do forthwith pay the said amount. Thomas Callister and Eleanor Callister Thomas Lace and Isabella Cannell Lace paid William Comaish and Jane Cannell Comaish paid Thomas Dawson and Mary Cannell Dawson paid 20lbs Patrick Kneale of the Parish of Lezayre administrator in trust of the estates of Ann Kneale his late wife for and in behalf of her children namely Ellen, Jane, Margaret, John and Elizabeth do hereby own and acknowledges that Charles Kaighin husband of Margaret Cannell sister of my late wife Anne aforesaid has paid the full sum of eight pounds six shillings and eighty pence being the proportion of the said children of a sum of fifty pounds made payableto his late Ann by the aforesaid Margaret Kaighin alis Cannell under the will of John Cannell dated Sept 9th 1818 upon her obtaining possession of certain houses and lands in the said will mentioned John Cannell And I do acquit and discharge him the said Charles Kaighin and Margaret his wife from all further claim or demand on account of the aforesaid will of John Cannell and I also exonerate acquit and undertake to keep him the said Charles Kaighin his executors and administrators safe and harmless in the ----------- is witness my subscription hereto this 29th day of May 1855.
