1 Lonan This is affirmed to be the Last will and Testament of John Fargher of the parish of Kk Lonan declared by him by word of mouth on the seventeenth day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighteen being of sound memory and understanding at the wording and expressing the same He first Committed his Soul to Almighty God and his body to the earth to be enterred in a decent Christian like manner And as touching and respecting his worldly effects he devised and bequeathed in manner here after mentioned Imprimit He left and bequeathed unto the poor of the parish the sum of Ten Pounds and then mentioned the names of them as was to receive the same and what sum each was to receive to the widow of John Quark the sum of one pound to the widow of Edward Callow one pound to the widow of James Callow one pound to John Clague of Laxey one pound to James Cowin son of William Cowin one pound to Thomas Skillicorn son of Edward Skillicorn one pound And to his brother Thomas Fargher the Sum of Four pounds together with all his shaped apparel save and except his last Suit of blue Cloaths his second best Coat and his Russet top coat Item He left and bequeathed unto John Callow his brother in law the said second best Coat and the said Russet top Coat Item he left and bequeathed to his loving wife Isabella all the effects within and without his present dwelling on the Estate of Ballachroink Save and except the Gold, Silver and papers that answered and Stood for money then in the House likewise the cattle that he Called his own that was brough by him, on the said dwelling on the Estate of Ballachroink aforesaid, mentioning that she was to have the Cattle between himself and John Callow and the dun or Bay poney to his said wife, Mentioning and reserving also that She his said wife was not to have his Herring netts, or any article belonging to the same likewise She was not to have that Chest Called the white Chest likewise the Cloaths and Linnen then in the House unshpaed and unmade which he also reserved Item he left and bequeathed to Ann Kewley his Grand daughter the said white Chest and three ewe Sheep Item He left and bequeathed to his son in law William Callow and his wife Eleanor the Sum of Eighty Pounds british as Legacy And mentioned and requested that his will was that his hereafter mentioned Exor or Executrix was bound, on being paid the consideration of a Bond and Security that he the Testator held on the Estate and Lands of John Caley Ballaghnagiey under which the said lands was sold when he became purchases at any time within the space of two years after his decease was to relinquish and give up the same unto the said John Caley on being paid the incumbrance then affecting the same Item he left the sum of six pence each to all Cravers And Lastly he nominated ordained and appointed his Daughter Margaret the wife of Thomas Kewley whole and Sole Executrix and residuary Legatee of all and every the rest and residue of his Worldly effect Cash Credits Bills obligations Houses Lands Sureties and all other things moveable and imoveable of what ever nature so ever In testimony whereof he the Said Testator requested and desired of us that we would Testify and bear witness of the same Witnesses present Philip Skillicorn William Cowin Jurati To the Revds Thomas Cubbon and Thomas Stephen Vicars General of the Diocese of Sodor and Man The Humble Petition of Thomas Kewley and Margaret Kewley alias Fargher his wife of Kk Lonnon sheweth: That John Fargher father of your Petitioner Margaret having lately departed this life but previious to he said decease duly made and published his last Will and Testament where in and whereby he left devised and bequeathed differentLegacies to a Very Considerable amoung. And nominated and appointed your Petitnr Margaret whole and Sole Executrix and residuary Legatee as by reference to the Said will may more at large appear. That there are Several and various articles belonging to the said deceadts Estate requires the earliest Superintendence and attention [paid] to which Constrains your Petitrs to apply to your Reverence for redress in the premises Wherefore you Petitioners Humbly pray a hearing hereof And that your Revds may be pleased to receive and Establish the before mentioned will and that your Petit Thomas be sworn Executor in form of law at the first Consistorial Court with other and further relief to your Petitrs as to your Revds may seem meet and they will pray etc. Ordered that this Petition do come to be heard at a Consistorial court to be holden in Ramsey the 22th of January next whereof all parties are to have due notice given this 14th December 1818 Thos Cubbon By viture of an order granted by the Revd Vicar general Thos Cubbon on the petition of Thos Kewley and Margret his wife I have Charged William Callow and wife and Issabel Faragher the wife of the [Decd ?] to appear at the Court House in Ramsey on the 29 Day of January Next and to ans the suit of the pettioners This I Certify this the 26 Day of Decr 1818 Thos Kermeen Sumner of Maughold my mark X At a Consistorial Court holden in Ramsey the 29th Janry 1819 Thomas Kewley husband of he Executrix above named is sworn Exor in Court in form of Law and hath given Pledges for the payment of Debts & Legacies namely the witnesses of the will Probatum est Thos Cubbon
