In the name of God Amen.
I Thomas Stowell, Clerk of the Rolls, being of sound and disposing mind
and understanding do make my will as follows:
First I commend my soul to God and my body to be interred in KK Braddan
Church Yard looking for a joyful resurrection through the atonement and
mediation of my Saviour and Redeemer.  And it is my wish that my
funeral be attended with as little pomp and expense as possible.
Secondly As my widow will be entitled by law to a moiety of my
property I think it proper here to signify my entire requesence
therewith and as a token of my regard love and esteem I leave her the
further sum of twenty pounds.
Thirdly I leave to my daughter Nessy, Mrs Howard, who is already
provided for, the sum of ten pounds for mourning.
Fourthly I leave devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder
of my property houses, lands, goods, chattels and effects to my good friend
the Revd Hugh Stowell, the Revd Thos Howard, and Mrs Lewis Geneste Junior of
Douglas and to the survivors and survivor of them in trust of the equal
benefit and advantage of all my children unmarried share and share alike.
And to be disposed of for that purpose by the trustees and the survivors and
survivor of them in such manner as he or they may judge advisable.
And lastly I appoint them the said trustees and the survivors and
survivor of them to be executors of this my will.
As witness my subscription the 3d day of June 1818.
