In the name of God. Amen.  I George Oates late of Grancrutterey 
but now of the Town of Douglas, do make this my last will and 
testament as follows, being of sound mind and memory.  
First, I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial 
in KK Conchan churchyard in my wife's grave.  
Item, to my BROTHER WILLIAM OATES, my SISTER ANN MOORE WIDOW, 
and ELIZABETH OATES MY SISTER, to each of them I do will and 
bequeath one shilling as their respective legacy's and I re... 
and forgive them all former debts that the formerly owed one.  
Item, to the poor of KK Conchan, I do will and bequeath one 
pound British as a legacy.  
Lastly, I do nominate, constitute and appoint ELIZABETH CHRISTIAN 
MY LANDLADY executrix and residuary legatee of this my last will, 
nullifying all former wills as witness my name this 26 day of 
October 1822.

At a Chapter Court holden in Douglas 
on the 29th day of October 1824, 
John Christian husband of Elizabeth Christian the exectrix 
named in the foregoing will is sworn executor in court in form of law. .
