       Maughold 1825
In the name of God Amen.
I Edward Callow of the town of Ramsey being sound in bodily health and
of perfect mind and memory a writing this my last will and testament thanks
be given unto the Almighty God for the same blessing and calling
to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all
men to die.  Do make and ordain this my last will and recommend my soul to
the hands of God that gave all and for my body I recommend to the earth to
be buried in a Christian like manner in the parish churchyard of
KK Maughold.  Nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall
received the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such
worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life.
I give devise and dispose of the same in manner and form following ,that
is to say:
Item:  I give and bequeath unto my illegitimate Daughter Jane wife of Thomas
Cottier the sum of forty pounds British and the same is to be
paid by heir taken as a assignment on my mortgage and Danl Lowey's estate.
2.  I leave and bequeath to my sister Mary Lee one shilling and six pence
British per week during her life.
I leave and bequeath to my nephew John Lee the sum of five pounds to
help to get him to trade.
4.  I leave and bequeath to my nephew William Martin the sum of five pounds
to help to get him to trade.
5.  I leave to my sister's children which is in Liverpool namely Edward
and Ann Williams the sum of five pounds each if they will come to
receive the same if not it must not be paid to any other person.
Likewise I leave to the wardens of Saint Paulšs Chapel the amount of an
execution which is in the hands of Frederick Tellet Esq against George
Cowell of the city for the amount of twenty six pounds with interest for
many years and if the same money can be recovered it is to be divided on the
poor of the town.
I leave and bequeath to friend William Stowell blacksmith two pounds to
get him some black to wear for on my account.
Lastly I nominate and appoint my beloved wife whole and sole executrix
of all my worldly goods moveable or unmoveable of every kind or denomination
whatever.
I leave to my nephew Edward Callow which is in Liverpool the sum of
five pounds.
I leave to my brother Wm Callow twenty shillings
30 Jun 1825 Ramsey Consistory Court executrix sworn in court in form
of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely
William Christian and Daniel Christian both of the town of
Ramsey       Probatum est               Thomas Cubbon
