In the Name of God Amen   I Edmund Skillicorn of the Parish of Kirk Michael
do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
First I commit my soul to God and my body to decent Christian burial
Item I leave and bequeath to my three sons William, Edmund, & James Edward
and Daughter Ann Skillicorn all my property of houses and lands situated in
the Parish of Michael aforesd besides all my goods chattels and effects
moveable and immoveable of what kind or nature soever   And if one or more
of the above named children should died before he she or they should arrive
at the age of Twenty-one years, his her or their share is to be equally
divided between the survivors of them afore named
Save and except the house in which we now live and the offices and haggard
attached thereto, which I leave to my loving wife Catharine Skillicorn
otherwise Cannon
I also leave and bequeath to my two sons John and Thomas Skillicorn two
shillings and six pence each and to my daughter Catharine wife of Philip
Cowley Five Shillings British
Lastly I nominate and appoint my wife Catharine Skillicorn and my son
Thomas Skillicorn joint Exors in trust of this my last will and Testament
ratifying this and no other, cutting off al claimers with a shillings
legacy, as witness my name this 13th day of February 1824

Inventory follows


At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael on the 20th  day of May 1825
Catherine Skillicorn the Executrix named in the foregoing will of Edmund
Skillicorn is sworn Executrix in Court in form of Law well and truly to
execute the last will and Testament of the said Edmund Skillicorn deceased
to pay all his just Debts Legacies and funeral expenses so far forth as the
goods will extend and the Law bind her and to return a full true and
perfect Inventory of the effects and of her proceedings in the premises
into the Archdeacon's Registry of this Island when thereto lawfully
required and to do and perform all other acts and things necessary or
appertaining to the office of Executrix and to these ends Thomas Skillicorn
and Paul Kewley have entered into abond unto the Lord Bishop and his
Successors in the sum of One hundred and forty pounds British bearing equal
date herewith ~ probate hereof is granted unto the said Catherine Skillicorn
