In the name of God Amen.
I Mary Lace (widow and relict of the late Daniel Lace of Sertfield Voar in
parish of Jurby deceased) being old and feeble in body but by the blessing
of God of a sound disposing mind memory and understanding Do make publish
and declare this my last will and testament, that is to say, principally and
first of all I give and recommend my soul to God and my body to decent
Christian burial.
And touching such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with
in this life.  I have bequeathed and disposed of the same in manner
following.
I leave and bequeath to my son John the sum of five pounds British and to my
son Daniel the sum of twenty pounds British.
I leave and bequeath to my two daughters namely Catharine and Ann the sum of
twenty pounds British each.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Jane the sum of twenty-five pounds
British together with a feather bed and a suitable bedding to the same.
I leave and bequeath to my grandson John Quirk the sum of ten pounds
British, and to my granddaughter Ann Casement the sum of ten pounds British,
and to my granddaughter Elizabeth Lace the sum of thirty
shilling British.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my daughter Mary Lace sole
executrix of this my last will and testament and residuary legatee of all
the rest of my goods, cash, notes, credits, and effects of whatsoever nature
and denomination.  In testimony whereof I have caused my name and mark to be
hereunto set this 16th day of March 1825.                Mary Lace my X mark

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael on the 17th day of Nov 1826. Mary
Lace the executrix named in the foregoing will is sworn in court in form of
law well and truly to execute and fulfil the last will and
testament of Mary Lace deceased to pay all her just debts legacies and
funeral expences so far as the goods will extend and the law bind her and to
return a full true and perfect inventory of her effects and an accurate
account of all her transactions touching said estate into the
Ecclesiastical Registry when thereto lawfully required.
And to these ends John Cleator and Angus Clark both of the parish of Jurby
have entered into a bond unto the Lord Bishop in the sum of four hundred
pounds British bearing equal date herewith.  Probate hereof is granted unto
the said Mary Lace.   Will Roper

I Catherine Casement als Lace of the town of Peel in the parish of KK
German, do acknowledge to have received from Mary Lace of the parish of
Jurby executrix of the last will and testament of Mary Lace late of the
said parish of Jurby decease, the sum of seventy pounds British being the
amount of the legacy bequeathed to me in and by the last will and testament
of the said Mary Lace.  And I do hereby release, acquit, exonerate, and
discharge the said Mary Lace her heirs, exors, admors and assigns of the
same forever. As witness my subscription this 6th April 1827.   Catherine
Casement.
Acknowledged at the same time to be paid the amount of the said legacy.

I John Quirk of the parish of KK German grandson of Mary Lace late of the
parish of Jurby deceased do acknowledge to have received from Mary
Lace the executrix of the last will and testament of the said Mary Lace also
of the parish of Jurby the sum of ten pounds British being the
amount of the legacy bequeathed to me in and by the last will and testament
of the said Mary Lace.  And I do hereby release, acquit, exonerate, and
discharge the said Mary Lace the executrix her heirs exors admors and
assigns of the same forever.  As witness my subscription
this 28th day of April 1827.      John Quirk.

I Daniel Lace of the parish of KK Lonan do acknowledge to have received from
Mary Lace the executrix of the last will and testament of Mary Lace late of
the parish of Jurby deceased the sum of twenty pounds British being the
whole amount of the legacy bequeathed to me in and by the last will and
testament of the said Mary Lace.  And I do hereby release,
acquit, and discharge the said Mary Lace the said executrix her heirs,
exors, admors and assigns of the same forever.  As witness my subscription
this 3rd August 1827.

Mary Lace made oath on the Holy Evangelists that the personal Property
whereof Mary Lace died possessed, will not exceed in value four hundred
pounds, to the best of Deponent's knowledge, information and belief. Witness
her name, this 17th day of Nov 1826.
