        The humble Petition of
        Wm Kewley of Douglas
        Advocate
Showeth
       That your Petitioner’s wife
   in the month of December one 
   Thousand eight Hundred and
   twenty eight died intestate
   leaving no Issue her surviving
   and Petitioner is [de juri] entitled
   to Administration of her said
   Estate
      Wherefore Petitioner
      humbly prays a hearing
      of this Petition and that
      your Petitioner be appointed
      Administrator of her said

Ordered that this Petition do come on to be heard
at an Ecclat Court to be holden in Douglas on Friday
next whereof all proper parties and persons concerned
to have due notice

William Kewley is sworn well and truly
to administer the Estate and Effects of
Judith Kewley Dec’d of whom he is
Appointed Adm’or to pay all her just
Debts and Funeral Expenses so far forth
As the Goods will extend and the
Law [xxx ?] him and to return a true
and perfect Inventory of the said
Deceadants Estate and Effects and
of his acts and proceedings in
the [premises?] unto the Episcopal
Registry of this Island [when thereto?]
lawfully required, and to these
ends Dan’l Christian and Thomas
Bridson have Entered into a Bond
unto the Lord Bishop of this
Diocese in the penal sum of
One thousand pounds British
          Decretum est

   Know all Men, by presents, that We, Dan’l Christian
of  the Parish of Concan and
Thomas Bridson of
the Parish of Braddan are held and firmly bound
to [“George” r/w “William”], Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann, and his Successors, in the
Sum of One Thousand pounds
British; to the Payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind
Ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, jointly and
Severally; by these presents, to the said Lord Bishop and his Successors.
   Witness our Subscriptions, this        Dan’l. Christian
    4th day of Dec’r 1829                 Thomas Bridson

   Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Island hath this Day
granted Adm’on of the Estate of Judith
Kewley of[alias?] Judith Stephen
deceased, to W’m Kewley her husband.

Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such, that if the said
Wm Kewley
shall well and truly administer the Estate and Effects of the said Judith
Kewley deceased; and shall
in all Things relating thereto conform to the Laws of this Isle, the Orders
of the Ecclesiastical Courts thereof, and the Oath he
hath this day taken, then the foregoing Obligation to be void, otherway
to be and remain in full force and virtue in Law.
