In the name of God Amen. I John Lawson 
of the parish of Kirk Lonan being weak 
& sick of body but of sound disposing 
mind & memory knowing the uncertainty of 
this transitory life & the certainty of 
death do make this my last will & testament.
First I commit my soul to God who gave it 
& my body to Christian burial & as to 
my worldly effects I dispose of in 
manner following.
I leave & bequeath to my son John Lawson 
the weaving looms and all Giers and 
materials belonging to them two empty herring 
casks a square table without frame four 
chairs the best bedstead my best blue 
jackcoat & grey jackcoat two blue pair of 
breeches four waistcoats namely one blue 
one red one black & the other brown. 
I leave to my two daughters Jane the wife 
of James Kaggin & Margaret widow & wife 
of William Corkill late deceased one shilling 
each. I leave sixpence legacy to any person 
or persons that may claim in this my will.
Lastly I revoking all other wills heretofore, 
all words or intentions uttererd. Declaring 
this to be my last Will & Testament & 
nominating & appointing my well-beloved 
Daughter Judy widow & wife of Thomas Corlett 
late deceased whole & sole executrix of 
all the rest of my goods & chattels moveable 
& immoveable of whatever nature and denomination 
soever as witness my name hereunto 
subscribed this the seventh Day of Decenber 
one thousand eight hundred & thirty two.
