56                 Maughold
The following is affirmed to be the last Will and Testament of John Cllow
of the "Dullan" in the Parish of Kk Maughold spoken, declared, and
pronounced by him in the presence and hearing of William Kennish and Ewan
Gill on the 4th day of November 1836. ­
First   He left and bequeathed unto Mary Corkil, and Catharine and Margaret
her Daughters, Twenty Pounds Manks; Ten Pounds thereof to Mary and Five
Pounds a piece to her said Children
Secondly        He left and bequeathed unto Mary Skillicorn Five Pounds British
and the Bed Clothes of two Beds equally between the said Mary Corkil and
Mary Skillicorn
Thirdly He left and bequeathed unto Margaret Stevenson his Sister, Five
Pounds British and to his Sister Catharine Skillicorn Five Pounds British
Fourthly        He left to Thomas Callowe his Brother Five Pounds British and his
Sheep amongst himself and his Children share and share alike
Fifthly He left and bequeathed to his Brother William Callowe one Pound
British, and to his Sister Mary Callow the like Sum of One Pound British
Lastly  He nominated and appointed his Brother James Callowe Executor of his
said Will; to see his Mothers Debts and legacies paid, and to receive the
residuum of his Estate

                At an Eccl Court held in Ramsey the 17th Decr 1836. ­
William Kerruish and Evan Gill the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing
last will of John Callow deceased having deposed on the holy Evangelists
that the same was declared by the Testator when of sound mind and memory to
be his last will and that the Testamentory words therein set forth were
spoken in their presence and after being written as set forth in this sd
will were read to and approved by the Testator the same is therefore
received as and for his last will and James Callow the Eecutor therein
named is sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute the same to pay all the
just debts Legacies and funeral expenses of the Testator so far forth as
the goods will extend and the law bind him and also to return a true and
faithful account of his proceedings in the Premises to the Archdeaconry
Registry when thereunto required and to these ends hath given pledges
namely the sd Wm Kerruish and Wm Goldsmith of Maughold who have entered
unto a Bond to that Effect.

I Philip Skillicorn husband of Catharine Skillicorn als Callow of the
Parish of Maughold do acknowledge to have received from James Callow the
Exor of the last Will and Testament of John Callow late of the Parish of
Maughold deceased the sum of Five pounds british being the amount of the
Legacy left and bequeathed to my wife in and by the Will of the said John
Callow ­ And I do hereby release acquit and discharge the sd James Callow
his Heirs Exors Admors and assigns of the same for ever ­ As witness my
name this 20th day of Decr 1837
