The humble petition of Edward Cain of the town of Douglas Baker. Sheweth:
That Charles Young of the said town of Douglas Brewer lately departed this
life intestate.
That petitioner is a creditor of the said Charles Young and is anxious that
some fit and proper person be appointed administrator of the estate and
effects of  the said Charles Young.
Wherefore petitioner prays a hearing of the petition and that your Reverence
maybe pleased to grant Letters of Administration of the estate and effects
of the said Charles Young to some fit and proper person and petitioner will

Ordered that this petition be heard at Douglas on Tuesday next whereof all
person to have notice.

I Charles Young of the town of Douglas in the Isle of Man being of sound
mind and d do make this my last will and testament this sixth day of August
one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight.  I desire that all my just
debts and funeral expences be fully paid and I further give and bequeath to
Mary Jane Pickford Young my wife the whole of my real and personal property
of every nature and description whatsoever and wheresoever in trust of the
joint use and benefit of herself and our four children namely Charles Henry,
William Edwin, Emily, and Catharine Young.  And I do leave my said wife Mary
Jane Pickford Young whole and sole executrix of this my last will and
testament as witness my hand this sixth day of August one thousand eight
hundred and thirty eight. Charles Young.

At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas 20th November 1838.
Mary Jane Pickford Young the executrix having renounced the executorship and
prayed the court to appoint an administrator with the will annexed;
Christopher Karran Sumner of the parish of Braddan is therefore appointed
Administrator in trust with the will annexed of all and singular the goods,
rights, credits, chattel, and effects moveable and immoveable whatever of
the said deceadent and he is thereupon sworn well and truly to administer
the same to pay all the testators just debts so far forth as the goods will
extend and the law bind and return into the Episcopal Registry a full true
and perfect inventory thereof and an accurate account of all transactions
touching the same when thereunto lawfully required.

Karran Sumner sworn administrator of the will with Mary Jane Pickford Young
renonuncing executrixship with William Edwin Young a son of the testator
sworn administrator de bonis non with the will annexed pledges William
Isdale of Douglas and John James  Quiggin of Douglas in the parish of
Braddan
