Philip Fargher 1838 Lonan A4 In the name of God Amen. I Philip Fargher of the parish of KK Lonan do make this my last Will and Testament First I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body to a Christian burial and as to my worldly Effects I dispose of in manner following Item I leave and bequeath unto my son William Fargher eight pounds and my part or share of the husbandry giers and my part of the sheep and my part or share of a parcel of Land we purchased of John Hogg of sd parish adjoining my own Lands on the East Item I leave unto my daughter Margaret wife of John Morrisson Ten pounds Item - I leave unto my son John Fargher my son Philip Fargher my Daughter Ann wife of John Kissack my Daughter Eleonor wife of John Kneale Two Shillings and sixpence each. I leave Forty shillings to the poor of the sd parish Item I leave sixpence to any person that may claim in this my will. Note that the above Legacies is not to be claimed untill after the Decease of me the sd Philip Fargher and Margaret my wife. I appoint my wife Margaret Fargher whole and sole Executrix of all the rest of my goods and chattles of whatever nature or denomina tion soever as witness my name hereunto subscribed this the 12th day of February 1829 Witnesses present Philip Fargher James Skillicorn Thomas Mackinsal Jurati At a Chapter Court holden in Douglas on the 22nd day of May 1838 Margaret Fargher the Executrix in the foregoing Will named is sworn in Court in form of Law well and truly to execute the Last Will and Testament of Philip Fargher deceased to pay all his just Debts Legacies and funeral expenses so far as the goods and effects of the deceadent will extend and the Law bind her and to do all other acts and deeds pertaining to the office of Executrix according to Law. And to these ends she has given Pledges namely John Fargher and William Fargher both of Lonon Probatum est Danl Nelson Know all men that whereas Philip Fargher of the Parish of Lonon did in his last Will and Testament dated 12th day of February 1829 leave and bequeath unto his daughter Margaret the wife of John Morrison the sum of ten Pounds - Know therefore that I John Morrison husband of the said Margaret Fargher do hereby acknowledge to have received from the Executrix viz: Margt Fargher the said Legacy of ten pounds and I do hereby exonerate, aquit and discharge the sd Extx Margt Fargher her heirs Exors and assigns of the same forever -- as witness my subscriptn this 24th Decr 1844 John Morrison his X mk Acknowledged before me Danl Nelson Ar: Regr 22nd July 1845.
